I hadn't heard that.

Nor had I. Reference?

If memory serves me correct, they weren't confirmed destroyed, As was the Book of Dorn, Book of Glory and the Sceptre of Blood (or whatever it was called)

Technically all Dorn successors had or have an Emperor's champion but it's so uncommon basically only the Black Templars have it...
IIRC The Crimson Fist lad died at some point and they haven't the resources to replace him...

IIRC Dorn had the title of Emperor's Champion, then gave it to Sigismund. I also seem to recall that other chapters do have an EC, but not as often as BT.

Also, I don't believe that you need a Black Sword/Armor of Faith, as that is simply what the (awesome) wargear he is issued is called

Since the tragedy on Rynn's World happens in 989.M41 and the last entry in the 5E rulebook is the 13thBC in 995.41 almost no time has passed. 6 years in a game universe that spans 10,000 is a drop in the bucket. So to answer your question: no, to answer what seems to be the larger question: "Can I have a CF Emperor's Champion?" a resounding yes.

Soul Drinkers were retcon'd to not be part of the Sons of Dorn. They supposedly got some of there Gene-seed and were able to conclude there origin was from a different Primarch. I also don't know if I would run an EC in any other army but the BT. Without his special rules, he's not what he's suppose to be.

Really? This I have not heard of. I always thought that they were a second founding of the Imperial Fists. I could be wrong though....

Phalanx the (probably) final book of the Soul Drinkers series reveals it.

That's the nice way to say it.

You do know the "Black Sword" isn't always a sword right? And it's not even a specific set of them, it's a symbol like a chaplain's Crozius. Even back when ECs were limited to the BT Codex:Armageddon made it clear that the Black Sword was just a symbolic name for the weapon wielded by the EC.

I noticed that in the BRB it makes a reference to Soul Drinkers still as a sucessor chapter of the Fists. It doesnt say that they are ex-communicated or anything. I find that weird.
