Gw doesn't run grand tournaments anymore? I assumed they dropped ardboyz so they could make the standard tournament pt value higher.

Please, for the love of God...2500. 4 Bloodthirsters? Throw down a few cheap units of nurglings and round out with a bunch more flying princes? Go ahead, hit me on 6's ladies. S*** is going down, I repeat-S*** is going down!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Due to work, I can usually only ship any sales or trades out on Saturday morning. Please trade/purchase with this in mind.

The new codexes are usually pretty balanced between different FOC slots, and have good troops, so they don't have nearly the same problems fitting what they want in. Old codexes like Tau, Tyranids and Eldar though are usually badly stressed aroudn the Elite and Heavy choices, and have hard decisions to make on what they can take.

So a second detachment really helps the old, second tier codexes. Let's face it, GK can already take 6 psyflemen if they want, or make purifiers, paladins and henchmen troops. They don't care.

I hate to remind you, but Tyranids are a relatively recent 5E book...

I don't think the standard tournament points value is going to raise at all. Anyone who thinks it will go up past 2000 is nuts. There's really no reason to raise the points value for your average gamestore tournament.

I don't think that's true for Eldar.

Our biggest weakness is our complete lack of any decent troop choice. And, a troop choice isn't cheap for Eldar.

So, by forcing us to take a second FOC, you're forcing us to take extra troop choices (I don't usually have 4 at 2000 points), which really hurts.

Yeah, allowing a 3rd Farseer is kinda nice, but it's not worth having to take another overpriced troop choice.

Pathfinders aren't all that costly, and can be bought in small units. Their sniping ability just got a boost too

You think 20+ points for a model that fires 1 shot, has paltry armour, and the 1 shot isn't even THAT good? No, pathfinders are not worth their points.

Ummmm...... no... Have you looked at the new rules for witchblades?.... Terrible.

Oh, no. What did they do to witchblades?

They didn't mess with the witchblades?! O.o

What did they do

On pathfinders: The +2 to cover more than makes up for their crappy armor, and The ability to pick targets out for your AP1 Shots will make up more than their points for the game. On top of that they cause pinning every now and then. So all in all 120 points for a infiltrating troop choice (lets face it eldar troops all suck) that can go to ground for a 2+ cover save, pins, and had the ability to take out hidden powerfists and special weapons is a good value.

On witchblades: They are no longer Str9 vs vehicles they are Str3

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Having played a few games, its much faster gameplay. Even when we were looking up alot of rules we got 1500 pt games done in 2 hours. Once comfortable the game could easily be much larger. I'm thinking a 3k game would only take about 2 hours.
