It won't be until september at the earliest though, and it's not as if nurgle will be removed from the fluff

It's not the fluff removal I'm bothered about, it's the rumoured FOC changes to Plague Marines from troops to elites.

Granted I can see PM units becoming troops when a Lord with MoN is taken, I'm not sure if I want to risk it.

Also, on a side note, I can see PM getting poisoned attacks. Their ammo should be infected too, but again, this is wish listing :-).

I might take the plunge to purchasing a DG army, they do fit my style of play and aren't exactly subtle.

If they are moved into elites, and assuming that zerkers, sonic and thousand sons get the same treatment that would leave cultists and just basic chaos space marines as troops which I can't see happening. I know that GK have two troop choices but their a ridiculously elite army, plus would that raise chosen to the point where they are the legions equivalent of a command squad? PM could be moved to elites but I really can't see it, but I'll have some crow ready just in case

I wonder how thousand sons will fair with the new powers?? But am confident the reliability and staying power of the plague marines coupled with an infantry comeback in 6th is good news for death guard.

Having had a play with TS and the new powers it's a bit of an issue getting the ranged ones off due to the new charge distances otherwise they're handy. Psychic shriek gives some much needed terminator stopage for instance. Anything lighter av wise and they still have the edge over plague marines on damage output. Assuming no upgrades of course. The 4+ still makes them last a touch longer against heavy weapons but not much now. If I weren't such a tzeentch purist (to my detriment atm) i'd be throwing PM in my list without a second thought.

I can easily see them going back to the take a lord of "x" and "y" become troops. It'd be the previous codex all again and I liked that one. Would give a reason to take lords again too if they did it that way.

Was more thinking of running fantasy zombies with a unit of death guard termies and death guard chosen with the zombies being victims of the zombie plague and using the cultists stats

I'd be inclined currently to add zombies as the crappy daemons from CCSM.

You see, I'm in the dark place regarding choosing an army for Chaos... Nurgle or Tzeentch.

Nurgle has all that lovely synergy with Epidemius.

Tzeentch has it with Fateweaver rerolling saves which is even more OP.

Either way, they both look like fun armies to play.

So... Nids, Nurgle or Tzeentch???

Nurgle Nids whose murderous rampages are all a part of Tzeentch's plan.

How much will this Finecast tide cost parents?

It could be worse. They might be buying normal Chaos Marines and the Forge World conversion packs.

That burns a hole in your wallet faster than finecast does.

At roughly $0.60 more and being infinitely better models, I'll take them!

Definitely and with the change to the toughness rules I am actually considering adding some bikers to my nurgle army. Kind of goes against my thoughts of a slow and plodding force with bits dropping off of it moving inexorably closer to its enemies, but that toughness of 6 when you give them a nurgle mark is just too hard to pass up. I don't have any raptors in that force either and I am planning to pick up some of the forgeworld heresy armor assault marines to convert for the army. If I could find some of the original raptor figs I might go with those instead, but the current raptor figs just look too new and fancy for my nurgle army.

Wait, does this mean Nurgle bikes are now 5(6)?

Awesome. I'll soon be getting Typhus, he's now incredibly good.

The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy.

Nope, nurgle bikes are now just T6, not T5(6) i believe.

T6 bikes are good, but look at their uses.

Aside from a lord delivery system, they are pretty meh.

This is correct. There is no separation in the toughness characteristics anymore with respect to Instant Death. It all counts now.

I like being able to make a force of Plague Marines or noise marines. I Find berserker focused forces a bit too easy to off kill for my tastes and I'm not real big on thousand sons either, but would be annoyed to see the speciality chaos marines become elites again unless they have the caveat of being troops in an army lead by a general with the appropriate mark. It makes sense for Berserkers to be an elite unit in a nurgle army, but not plague marines. Just my personal interest in the matter...

I hope it does.

It's fluffy and it should never have been changed.
