There is absolutely nothing I don't love about this model except the price. But I'm predisposed to liking ugly aircraft built around giant cannons designed to eat mud-humpers.

Outside of the model, has anyone reads the 6th ed updates? Chaos Helltalon is a 4 hull point flier, putting it on par with a Land Raider. If/when FW models become common, I imagine there will be quite a few of them.

Does the 'Avenger Bolt Cannon' show up on any other Forge World vehicles, or is this the first appearance? I'm curious what the stats are.

First appearance.

It's likely meant to be a homage to the GAU-8 "Avenger" cannon that the A-10 Thunderbolt II is built around.

Only appearance to date that I am aware of... interested as well. It also has 2 additional weapon mount points.

I like it ... and looks like I got another recruit for the Imperial Navy.

Hm, they say the lascannons can be switched with other FW-flyer armament....

I'm thinking twin linked punishers + bolt cannon...

Can you say "wall of lead"?

I don't think twin-linked Punisher cannons are an option, I don't think the ammo cannisters will fit under the wings.

Personally I don't like it that much.
I think I could modify it a bit for my tastes though.
One thing though, Heavy Stubber?
It's in a defensive position.
Are there any flyers that thing can hurt?

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

In real life those kind of defensive weapons are pretty much there for pilot morale purposes only

I love the look of this thing, the high bypass engines with vectored nozzles bring up all sorts of nice harrier cues. Just wish they'd put some kind of cowling on, I think that's the July thing I'd change.

It doesn't seem to fit well to the aesthetic set by the amazing Thunderbolt. It reminds me of pod racers from starwars.

That said, I too am getting looting ideas for it for the orks... Wouldn't have to do too much to it.

My first thoughts as well, the pod racer thing. I also think it's ugly as sin.

Two pylons per wing, so its possible as long as the angle of the inner wing isn't a lot different from the Vulture...

You're forgetting about the ammo feeds that connect to each Punisher cannon.

I like it, but it is a bit too expensive for me to consider buying. I would rather get an old Thunderbolt or Marauder variant than this, as those are much better looking. That or a fighta bommer if my KoS army was even close to completion.

I love the A10, and I wish I could field a 40K version of the A10.

But at that price... not likely!

Does anyone know what sort of damage the main gun does? I'd love to see one with a modifier to vehicle type: tank, but that might be best for a house rule.

The A-10 in your profile pick says it all!

You have to glance to take off those hull points... It not av14 so its a long way shy of being on par!
