No worries, being a teacher, my nights are filled with exhaustion during the week! I have a table myself, just looking for a hobby store to allow me to bring it in to use! I will check out the Game Room. I just wish we had a store in the Eatontown/Tinton Falls area.

Totally understandable. I used to work at fort monmouth before it closed so I know how much of a pain it can be driving down this way. Red Bank isn't a big deal either. I'm completely new to 6th too and pretty much playing in general, but I do know how to play from watching endless amounts of batreps on YouTube. As long as no one cares about a few mistakes, I'm down to play wherever. I'm just finishing up my masters in comp sci at Stevens in hoboken and in doing so, my job is basically to learn everything extremely quickly, so I'd say I'm a pretty fast learner regardless lol

I think I've said this before, but I'm more of a Warmahordes and Infinity player, but I still know my way around 5th ed. 40k... I haven't even taken a peek at 6th though.
It'd be hard finding time now that school's started and I work weekends, etc...

We should all meet up at a store one friday or saturday and at least meet each other. My problem is I literally know no one locally to have a friendly pickup game with. I have tried to get my friends into 40k, but they balk at the $$ investment (despite the fact i have enough minis for all). We could do the store in Redbank or Woodbridge mall.

That could work. I will call the store and maybe Sept. 21 (Next Friday) we could meet at HobbyMasters in Red Bank? I will ask if they have any other 40k players, if so cool, if not that is fine as well.

Just shoot a reply here if 9/21 works for you gents! We can just do a few small 500 pts. games to get ourselves familiar with the rules/each other.

I'm way up in Wanaque, North Jersey and slowly going nuts at the lack of any good stores, places to play, or people to play with. I do 40k and hordes, and I'm building a gaming table in my shed, but I haven't a clue why, since nobody around where I live seems to have an interest in tabletop.

Closest place I know that actually runs games is in Nanuet, New York, called Toy Wiz, but that place is a good 45-hour away on a normal day up 287. Can't be bothered.

From what I've read thus far, there are some pretty awesome changes, and some not so awesome (at least for me as an ork player). It's not like there is much of a learning curve, its just some random rules thrown in to modify what already existed in most cases and a few new rules (over watch, look out sir, snap shooting etc..) Assaulting is now like it is in Fantasy. You have to roll to "charge". You can pre-measure anything at any time, vehicles now have hull points, just to name a few. It's still basically the same. Just a handful of new important stuff and its no big deal. I have the hard cover copy, so if you do want to come and hang out you're more than welcome to go through it, as I'm sure well all need it for reference ><

That should work for me. I'm in the process of interviewing for a bunch of different jobs but I'm pretty sure that won't get in the way. 500 pts of boyz coming! lol. Too bad I had stopped painting my guys when I thought Game Room closed. Better get started again ><

Oh wow you're way up by where I went to college. I used to date a girl from Franklin Lakes too which is sort of near you (kinda maybe?). Rich little priss lol. They used to have a games workshop store in the Palisades Mall just north of Mahwah in New York State. Probably no more than 30 -40 minutes from you. Idk I could be wrong in distance. Not sure if that is still there, as I haven't lived up there in at least 4 years.

I got into 40k by way of that same Games Workshop store you mention back in 2006 - they were giving out a battleforce randomly on the hour, and I happened to be looking at what the hell was up with these little toy soldiers, so they dumped it on me.

Unfortunately, about six months later, that GW store had closed. It's a jamba juice now. My only other sanctuary, Hiway Hobbies on Rt 17, also vanished about three years back. All the FLGS around me have been closing up and dying.

Friday the 21st, aside from being my birthday, is also the first of our wedding series for the remainder of the year. You guys should still meet up and then I can catch up with you the following weekend.

Maplewood Hobby (in, obviously, Maplewood) is pretty lively, but it's 45 min. for you south from where you live.

My problem is that I collect WHFB, which is even harder to find players for.

Damn you all and your open fridays!
I live in lakewood, been trying to find a group to play with since my two buds left the state. Seems like everyone plays on friday nights, which is cool. Except that I can pretty much never do fridays, bummer.

I do have a table made (2, but one is a 3 player hexagon), with enough terrain to fill it. My apartment is too small to actually host 3-4 people though, but I'd be willing to bring it and beer anywhere we could play 40k.

Well as it turns out I do have plans tonight. My wife just informed me that we have friends in from out of town. Are any of you guys around this or next Saturday evening?

Well, if we get a location of where everyone is, maybe we can get a more central place? I said Red Bank, but we could do Brick/Woodbridge as well.

Next Saturday the 22nd would work for me. I could do redbank although woodbridge is probably more centrally located. I have the good fortune of being 25 min from most of these stores. Let me know what time and place works for everyone.

Is anyone going to go tonight? Or should we push it back until we decide 100%?
