For me, as long as you can tell what it is I have no problems. This way I don't have to keep asking what something is. I scratched built some loota's and there is no question as to what they are.

I wouldn't build something up from plain card, though, it's too much work. I prefer to start with a model or parts and adapt them.
That said, I've just had a great idea for scratch building some Ork Bikes based on the concept of the concept of bringing small Space Roks down to earth to use as the body of the bike.
I'm going to get a bunch of these in suitable shapes and sizes and epoxy a load of gubbinz on to them.

This is either the greatest thing ever or the worst, i'm not sure which

I am picturing boyz gripping reins attached to rudders for steering while the rokz blast along with a dozen rokkit enginz jutting out the back. Lots of goggles, ratty scarves trailing in the wind. Rather thn dakka guns attached to the rock, a free hand carrying an oversized orky double-barrel shotgun.

I do. Some people are great at it.
But most people just think they are great at it.
I tend to think that most people don't think they are great at it, but are willing to have fun with their hobby and give it a try and then are enthusiastic about their results. They then expect a similarly enthusiastic response.
I tend to tell them what I like about their result and ask if what they would do differently next time and then make some suggestions in the ensuing conversation.
Much better approach than starting with the assumption "you think you're good but you're not!"

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |
