Putting rules in the magazine is a way of improving it. If there are new rules in it you have a reason to read one.

If there were rules, FAQs at least, and a scrathbuilding modelling/converting article in each issue it would actually be worth getting.

I see what your saying, but my meaning is that they would just shove a few new rules in, and that's it - nothing else. They would force you to buy, WD because you need the rules, but the rest of the magazine would still be the pointless drivel it is now. If they did the rest of the things you suggest, then yes it would be a huge improvement & probably worth getting, but with GW's seeming policy of cut costs & charge more, well, you decide which they'd do.

Put simply- the rules that have been released in White Dwarfs are not nearly enough to make me buy any more copies of White Dwarf. When I am paying 10 dollars for a single copy, I expect content like we used to get in the "good old days" of White Dwarf, when I bought a copy every single month- as reading material 1st, and rules 2nd.

Most of the content of 3rd and 4th editions that made the games fun for me were "Chapter Approved" stuff. Evidently GW fired all the people that had such creative ideas, for I haven't seen even a small percentage of the "Good Ole Days" in current issues.

I agree that $10 an issue is ridiculous.

Games Wokshop has a years subscription for $75, or $6.25 an issue.

Miniature Market has a years subscription for $50, or $4.16 an issue.
