Equipping your DCA with whatever PW you want them to be wielding is perfectly legal. Its you exercising the option GW presents you with.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Buttons wrote:TBH Lance/sword combo sounds pretty lackluster, both weapons are AP 3 on the charge anyway, and DCA aren't exactly a tarpit unit, so you shouldn't be needing too many attacks after the turn you charge in. Personally I think a power maul/power sword, or power lance/power axe or something is a better combo since power maul gives you +2 strength, with tons of attacks, while a power sword offers versatility, a power lance and power axe both offer +1 strength (only on the charge for the lance) which is a nice boost for such a low strength unit.

Yes, Lance/sword will not likely be very effective. I like the Sword/Axe combo myself.

Depends. If I need an AP2 weapon I have one so it may hurt to go last, but it may pay off as well. Also, if I am facing someone who is going to beat me in initiative anyway why not have the option to hit a little bit harder?

I would go Maul/Sword for most of the DCA, and let the crusaders in the unit Wield the Axes.

It is a little hard to beat DCA in the Initiative range of things. I6 is pretty fast.

Yeah it is. I was referring to my Marines though. Should have been more clear. Nothing over I5. So against DCA if I'm going last I might as well make it hurt.
