If you have flyer answers in your army, then just play 40k and try to win.

If you decided against consistent flyer answers or brought one (which will die on turn 2 guaranteed) then you have to find ruins or aegis and just belly up for 2+s.

Wait them out, as long as you have models alive and in position to kill 20 necrons, you just want to hope the game goes to turn 6 and that you have bottom of turn.

If you try and shoot your heavy bolters in the sky and run across open ground, you'll get tabled. Count how many objectives you need to win, be prepared to contest/score those, and then just dig in for a quick game.

Necron airforces don't have any cover breaking tools until they start adding wraiths, and if there are wraiths on the table, at least that gives you something to shoot at.

I was going to reply to Illumini, but Shep covered it.

Yes, airforces suck. Yes, one aegis isn't going to do it. Just like most super extreme lists, however, you just have to play a lame super extreme tactic (dodge the deathstar for 5 turns, dodge the flyers for 5 turns).

Please tell me how to dogde 18 wraiths + destroyer lord while at the same time dodging doom and night scythes. Wraithspam was very powerful in late 5th, now, with airsupport and extreme troop mobility, that list is a monster. It suffers quite a bit from hammer and anvil deployment, but that is only 1/3 of the games. The other deployments give you very little time to blunt the impact.

Thing is this goes against your original points; the issue in this list are the Wraiths, not the flyers. With 18 Wraiths, your standard D-Lord with Weave and MSS, you can fit 3 D-Scythes, and 3 5 man Warrior squads with N-Scythes. If facing that with my Grey Knights, I opt to go second, SPAM my Warp Quake (not applicable to other armies), then when my Ravens come on, they focus on the D-Scythes, and they should reliably kill 2 in that first turn they are on, all 3 with a little bit of luck. That's the main flyers neutralized and then I'm stuck worrying about the Wraiths which are the power of that list. Of course come the bottom of turn 3 I have air dominance more than likely, and then the Wraiths are worried if they have'nt pretty much wiped all my ground troops.

This is one example of how flyer SPAM isn't as much of a problem as people think, so as long as you have apt anti-air.
