What was the list you were using and how did you get shafted on terrain? Didn't follow the terrain setting up rules?

Ther big question is did he have anything in squadrons? Those are the first thing you should hit with OM as it is the best bang for the buck.

Also you said that you lost your warlord turn 1. Sounds like you had more of a leafblower problem then a flyer problem.

All in all it sounds like you had more problems then just dealing with the flyers. With 3 OM you should have been ahead of the game with only 10 powers. I would give it anouther few trys before just saying it doesn't work.
