Anyone else notice that the dark side makes men ugly and women scorching hot?

That as an observation on Star Wars in general, not just MMOs.

I actually LOVE the Legacy Era. Mostly cause the Imperial Knights are completely awesome (not to mention a wonderful breath of fresh air). I hope more is done with it now that the comic series is over.

Wouldn't that be an observation on sci-fi and fantasy in general? Just replace the Dark Side with vampires or a virus or whatever.

In SW's defence, there are a couple hideous female Darksiders as well as handsome male Darksiders as well. I believe it was once explained that the Dark Side has a destructive effect on the body's natural appearance, but that people can suppress this by expending a small bit of their power. The more corrupted you are, the more you need to invest to fake normalcy. Kind of like a drug. If that is so, one could theorize that many females are either not as powerful as the hideous male Sith (of which there aren't that many, actually) or that they just place more importance on their appearance, whereas guys like Palpatine stopped to care at some point. Like, after being crowned Emperor.

In TOR, corruption twists people's appearance equally for all sexes, too. My Sith currently looks like so:
Spoiler:

Nemera Rhun, Sith Duelist, specialised on wielding two lightsabers in fast-paced Ataru-form fighting style

Of course one could argue it's still looking hot somehow. I suppose you'd have to really "want" to have an ugly character and design him or her that way during chargen, as all the corruption does is change people's eye+skin colour and adding a bunch of popped veins.

Word!
I've been in an IRC-based roleplaying community for more than a decade now, and they just made a "jump" from the New Republic-era into Legacy as well, as it is such a compelling new setting that offers an intrigueing political situation with lots of stuff both new and old that was interesting to just about everybody. I know that Legacy already has a series of action figures and a sourcebook for the Saga-edition P&P. I'd love to see a computer game set in that era someday.
