I'm not seeing any confusing problems with someone wanting to model a invul save with armor. If anything it makes it easier to identify on the table, especially if it was explained beforehand.

In my IG army I use a space marine to represent Straken. Their armor saves are the same, even though Straken technically has flak armor. Nobody has ever made issue of it. If anything, I only get positive feedback on the model.
