Dude, just because you don't like the style doesn't mean everyone else does too-everyone has their own style preference.

Besides, Orcs/Orks are supposed to be cartoony and bright, in a violent, mentally challenged way.

It's not about preference, it's about schemes on model photos not fitting the artwork and the mood, dude. Every person I showed them to that is not into hobby instantly claimed that the art is great but miniatures photos look childish. I like colorful and clean painting schemes on 3+ pet miniatures, I go crazy with buying those for my kids to have something beautiful.

That's abut 5th edition and boxes though, miniatures look much bettter in 6th

Whatever, man. I was just saying that if you want to paint your models colorfully and cleanly I have no problem with it. Saying that since the fluff of the Warhammer world means that everyone has to paint their models in dark, grimy hues in a dirty, grungy style is a little silly-they are your models, so feel free to paint 'em however ya want.. And that is aside from the sentiment that everyone has to paint their models in the same style just to fit some fluff-this is a hobby, and is a venue for free expression, not strict guidelines (FoW is the exception here-showing up with your Tiger Tanks painted in the wrong camo scheme earns you a ticket to the cold shoulder from anyone you try to get a game in with).

It takes all types to make a world.

I think there's a misunderstanding, I ąm not saying that everyone has to paint their models in grimdark, I'm fine with any painting scheme pink marines included. What I'm saying is, GW should choose a different painting scheme for their rulebook and codieces. Just compare venom canon or other tyranid weapons art in the 6th to the painted models there. You browse through the madness that is art in the book only to see the models painted like straight from power rangers (might have exaggerated a bit though ), just does not fit . I sometimes wonder if they put those generic painting shemes on boxes instead of some Golden Deamon winners pr sth similar just to avoid people frustration about not being able to reach such level.

It's like a train wreck. But one made from two circus trains colliding.

A collosal, terrible, flaming, hysterical train wreck with burning clowns running around spraying it with seltzer bottles while ring masters cry out how everything is fine and we should all come in while the dancing elephants lurch around leaving trails of blood behind them.

How could I look away?
