Subject: So if I want to EVER play a flyer, I have to track down an old White Dwarf?

Any company can choose to treat their customers any way they want, and it's the customer's job to take it or leave it.
I feel we're being treated unjustly here, and so I will choose not to take it.
I don't want to drag a pile of WD with me to every game I play. It's just stupid.
And if it was just that one thing, I might have just made sure to buy them and then pull out the relevant pages, but I feel like I'm being bummed in so many ways.
I still enjoy the game and I'll support the company as much as I feel is due. I'll buy the models and I'll buy the rulebook. But I'm downloading any additional rules I want. It's that or quitting completely, and I won't do that as long as I have this other option.
But it's close, and I don't know how much more of their bs I'll take.
Of course, just losing me is not exactly a loss to GW, but I think they are treading on more toes than just mine. Enough that it might actually start making a difference for them.

See, i dont think GW really care how many toes they tread on. They're the biggest tabletop people out, so they've gotten really arrogant..

And that's how big businesses fall. They have a large margin of error... hell, a small company acting like GW is now would have gotten nowhere, but in the end, it can all just come crashing down if they keep it up.

I do not mind paying for the rules, and luckily I bought that flyer WD. (Sadly I missed the SoB codex.) The problem is that those things are no longer available.
I just cannot fathom why they're doing this. This is just bizarre from marketing perspective. Presumably they want as many people as possible to buy these new models, and limiting the availability of the rules this way makes it less likely that people will buy them.

You ever heard of 1st edition?
What, back when GW had the decency (and sense) to regularly anthologise the new material they published inWhite Dwarf?
And indeed when White Dwarf included sufficient new material to make it worth the cover price?

Maybe they're planning on doing something with Chapter Approved and just haven't realised that it will take them too long and that it will be outdated with the next WD release?
Releasing it in WD first is cool. That gives WD a purpose and gives you a reason to run to the store to see that new thing.
But it really should go on the site as a pdf after a month or so.

Hey don't forget the update to the demon codex that isn't in the errata/faq document. Pretty soon new demon players will be like, "What do you mean screamers don't have melta bombs?"
