No, all you need for Dragiowing is 4 boxes of Terminators, a librarian and Dragio. Roughly $250 for the whole thing. And that is a 2k list.

i voted grey knights but really my green tide... 180 ork boys cost less than a dollar a boy ... got aobr 20 boyz sets for 19 bucks shipped combine with a $5 aobr warboss hq or kff and bam cheapo 181 model army for less than 200 bucks

Any elite army. Deathwing, Loganwing, Paladin spam, or a Sanguinary Guard list would all come to be rather cheap cash-wise, but still ends up being a rather strong army depending on how you do it.

Money wise. Grey Knights.

The most expensive are the Guard and the Orks (Horde armys) which use alot of expensive vehicales and troops. there are ways around this but...

Definitely going with the other 154 people and saying Grey Knights. They're easy to paint too. What do you need? Boltgun, Chainmail, Mithril, Mechrite, skull white, maybe blood red, dheneb stone. I'm sure you could paint a nice army with less than 15 paints.

They definitely weren't a good idea on GW's part, if their intent was to make money.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Dark Eldar are pretty expensive. I have to buy lots of raiders, three ravagers (at fifty bucks a pop). If I want lots of blasters, I either have to get them from a bits shop, or cast them (which I've yet to try, but seems tempting). Plus, all these nonsense finecast things.

Id stick as many purifiers in there as possible. When I played small games I would always use a bunch of purifiers with crowe and it worked out.
