One a mate did: Killed Abaddon in CC with a Flashlight Guardsman.

One I did vs the same guy. He had a Psyker hiding behind a Chimera with one hull point left. I have one Necron Warrior in range of said Chimera. One shot, missed. Hit on the Twin Linked (Stalker), 6 to glance it. Best moment for my Warrior ever, as he made it possible to kill the Psyker next turn.

I had a squad of about 3 fire warriors get mad at some veterans in a flyer back in 5th. 6 shots? Of course only 1 hits. Roll a 6 to pen rear armor, then a 6 to explode it, wound every single guardsmen, they ALL fail their saves, and my fire warrior gets some golden swag to celebrate.

I also managed to kill a venom with 3 kroot in 5th; that one kroot got a bronze kroot rifle and a bright green 80's hair metal hairdo. I'm sure he'd make for a very responsible shaper.

Last game i played for 5th i had a lone paladin tear through a unit of 6 wolf guard in termie armor with claws and logan. Just to come out and shoot down a couple grey hunters befor finaly succumbing to like 8 missles to the face.

Way back when, two IG guardsmen are about to be assaulted by a DE Archon and Incubi bodyguard. So they assaulted instead of waiting. Only model the could reach was the Archon (and this was before pile-ins or any such rule), so it's them against the Archon. Archon whiffs. IG cause a wound and Archon fails his 2+ Shadow Field, losing the combat. Arhcon and unit then fail their Morale test and get run down by the Sweeping Advance. Yes, it was a good day for those two IG.

My firewarriors... they shoot. That's all they do and that's all they need to do. The impressive bits are the amazing things that happen while shooting.

My favorite? an assault marine squad tried to assault one of my Firewarrior teams. None of them survived the overwatch.

Best 6th edition Troop moment was with my unit of Elysian Grenadiers toting meltas. They were being chased by Assault Marines with a Librarian. A demo-charge takes care of most of them, but the Librarian still stands and charges the unit. The squad is down to 3 meltas and the sergeant as a result of intermittent shooting. I roll for overwatch and get 3 6s with the meltas. Instant field promotion.

I also had a Tau Shas'O with a shield generator hold out against a dreadnought for ~turns.
And a Kroot that much ate over a dozen times his points in terminators.

They weren't standard troops, but I once (back in 5th) had a SM Dread drop pod in the middle of my lines, right in front of my full Psyker Battle Squad.

My next round of shooting took off his close combat weapon but he was still a multi-melta in the middle of my parking lot.

Charged him with the Psykers and locked him in combat for five turns straight. The rage from across the table was tangible.

Had a Devilfish with 6 fire warrior heading to an objective that was inside of terrain on turn 5 (in 5th, where they could hide in there and still get the objective), it exploded the turn after it got into the terrain, killing two. my opponent's entire army(about 3-4 squads of TSons) focused on that squad, killing three. That one guy passed his leadership test and held the objective.

I remodeled him holding two pulse rilfes.

yep, they became veterans under the infantry squad Sgt that fought a termagant brood to a standstill for four game turns. The unit was assaulted on turn 2, he alone survived and rolled snake-eyes on the morale test. He was still there at the end of the game and the termagants were down to 3 or 4 models. The Nid player opposing (kicked my butt rather soundly, BTW) refused to add anything else to the combat, he wanted to see how long the Sgt would last. And this was back when termagants were good................

My greatest 40k trooper moment happened in the dark days of 2nd ed. I had a single guardsman with a missile launcher take out about 2/3rds of a Ravenwing force with one shot. He shot the lead bike in the formation, causing it to go out of control and ramming another bike, causing it to go out of control and start a chain reaction of collisions that took out 2/3rds of my opponents force. All we could do is laugh as the collisions kept piling up.

Khorne Berserker with a plasma pistol guns down a Rhino which explodes and kills everyone inside.

In my last game I had a tac squad reduced to a single bolter marine by the end of turn two. Four turns (and about 60 saves) later he climbs onto a CCB and beats Imotekh to death.

In 5th edition my tesla immortals squad over 3 turns assaulted 2 separate squads of termies and got assaulted by a squad of khorne berserkers and took them all down, they just refused to fail armor saves and all decided that they were only taking a break when they failed a save.

A single marine sergeant holding up a mob of 20 boyz for 3 turns after his squad was wiped out in the opening assault... He managed to kill 5 before he was finally brought down in turn 5 XD

I had a squad of 5 Pink Horrors get charged by a Trygon. Thanks to the magic of 4++ saves, they not only held out for 5 full combat rounds, they actually put a pair of wounds on the thing!

Seeing as it was against Ork boyz this isn't as impressive as some of these stories but I had a Rune Priest and 2 grey hunters charge a mob of about 12 boyz, One GH died to overwatch and through incredible good luck on my rolls (and some bad luck by the Ork player) those 2 brave Sons of Russ sent the boyz running. We didn't catch them in the sweeping advance but it was still cool. My models happened to end up back to back too. I still have the picture in my phone.

I'll have to see that.

A recent Relic game vs Necrons. My Assault terminators got bogged down by wraiths, rarely inflicting more than one wound, which always got saved. Couldn't even autofail, since Lysander was in the scrum whiffing attacks. Kept failing saves disproportionately and his guys kept all standing back up. Pretty much everything went wrong until the end of the game. The sole surviving Tactical marine, who was also my last infantry model, just barely got the relic into a Rhino and ran away despite multiple units of warriors and immortals blazing away at him for an entire turn, and two doomsday arks and a doom scythe unable to do more than pick one hull point off his prospective ride.

I also saw a lone Kabalite warrior manage to stab a Daemon Prince in the face and kill it, while surviving.

And finally, a single Blood Angel assault sergeant surviving multiple turns in combat with a Tervigon on an objective thanks to repeatedly passing FNP, keeping it locked just long enough for Honour Guard to get there and meltagun it down.

Are you sure they were wraiths? Wraiths cant reanimate, he may have been cheating.

A Tactical Squad Sergeant once Survived a fight with a Deamon Prince of Khorne. Granted, it took 8 of his brothers to give him cover while he pounded on the Deamon with his Power Sword, but in the end he came on top with him and a Missile Launcher-toting brother still breathing.

I second the guy above. Being charged by a cheese-dread and then blowing it up on its charge is priceless.

In 5th, I had 2 Scouts with Sniper rifles in area terrain guarding the objective I needed to win.

He assaults the squad with his deamon prince with 2 wounds left, and all three attacks hit and wound, and he fails saves so his DP dies before he gets to kill the Scout sarge and the other Scout.

It was pretty funny.

Lone DA Exarch with 2 Shuriken Catapaults sitting on objective.

Gets assaulted by 3 Terminators.

Overwatches (with Bladestorm)

Kills all three.

Secures an additonal 3 VPs which end up granting me victory.

WIN.

Not a standard troop, but I have had one stealth suit run down 20 termigaunts by himself.

Back in either 3rd or 4th I had a unit of 5 Scouts hold off a unit of 5 Terminators in combat for 2-3 turns, allowing me to win the game.

A ten man IG infantry squad with a Flamer of mine captured an objective in some ruins. In an effort to shift them and capture it, my opponent sent 18 Fire Warriors my way, only for two of their squads to get repulsed about a foot while the remaining squad is down to 4 guys over the course of four turns, of which the penultimate turn the IG also shrugged off a pie plate from a Hammerhead. By the end of the battle, I had 3 IG left on that objective but thanks to their jammy shooting and saving rolls, I managed to scrape a draw.

I had two plaguebearers kill crowe once.

Today my tac squad in drop pod came in turn 4 and snap fired their missile launcher at my friends annihilation barge, got a 6 to hit, a 6 to pen and then a 6 to explode, got to love that marine who just decided that that barge had to die, and I won the game too!
