I think this might be because we are aware of most of the “Disputed Rules” and deal with them before the game starts.

I think it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but is still not very good advice.

To be fair there are a lot of people who spend FAR too much time thinking mid-battle. It can be very, very irritating. I once played against a GK player as blob guard, and he easily took twice as long as i did to make his moves....and I had about 4 times as many models on the board as he did.

Well sometimes a LOS issue comes up and sometimes we do something and then get a situation where we have no clue how things are supposed to work, for example we had an issue on assaults and IC so we had to look it up or when we have to look up mysterious terrain/objectives/artifacts(I think they are awesome). It's all stuff that is just part of adjusting to a new edition and speeds up every game we play.
