I dont take ranger/pathfinders for how "killy" they are either. But you are right, I saw that statistically rangers are better point per kill. As with all units in the eldar codex, they flourish with support. A simple guide and/or doom boosts their efficiency by a ton. the 5+ to hit giving ap1 makes no diference to me when my rangers go to ground. And the extra bonus to cover save also makes no difference in that situation as well.

For me, its rangers. Save those points.

With my play-style, as a sam-hainn lover, I love my GJBs. give them a seer with fortune, and you have a mini council in terms of reliability. I prefer my full council, obviously, but these guys are my go-to in small points battles.

Plus, the ability to strafe with a shuri-cannon is awesome. Never under-estimate 6 guardians with shuri-cannons. they can hurt, then run like the wind. And besides, if your willing to be crazy and throw points at it, 5 GJBs and a Warlock gets two shuri-cannons for 20 points, and with Conceil stacking with night-fighting, you can reliably get 3+ cover saves (for those guys packing ap2-3, because the hide everywhere now a days) while staying out of range. Thats nuts for troops. Expensive, yes, but fast as hell, and durable if you need need it.

I agree with the consensus that it's Pathfinders and GJBs but i should note that against hordes and the like i feel Dire Avengers still prove the most capable of handling it.

Bush? No, Eldar Ranger

Procrastinating.

I put down jetbikes because they are the only squad we have that can hope to claim last turn objectives if the other side gets a turn of shooting. However, for me triple-flamer storm guardians get a special mention because half my opponents are horde armies
