well, the whole point of manipulating a database is that you can, in one fell swoop, change every instance of one thing into another. Posts, quotes, user accounts - it's all just a find-and-replace away.

I have to blame my Jonah like forum curse on something. This whole time I thought DakkaDakka was a bunch of squares that refuse to reply to my questions due to the 420 in my name.......who knew.

Well, we tend to frown upon doing name changes very often because it can be confusing to have someone's identity on the site switch and plus it would be time consuming to constantly be fulfilling name change requests.

However, making a one-time change to your user name for a valid reason is perfectly acceptable. If its something you (or the original poster) would like to do then send me a PM.

The closest you can do to deleting your posts is to go back and edit them down to the minimum character amount if the thread they are in isn't locked.

I wish it did, because updateding the OP to actually get people to read sth necessitates bumping the thread. Since that isn't allowed, it requires thinking of something useful to say that you didn't already say in the OP update.
