Without tailoring your list (In which case adding a Rune Priest with Jaws is the simplest way, at which point expect to see your opponent simply shake his head and aim his flyrant straight at it and possibly invest in a Ymgarl hit squad...) you are going to have to focus on laying down fire and giving ground until you are ready to engage his weakened force.

The Ironclad is your best weapon against his T-Fex's and Carni's, if you can strip a few wounds off them then the Ironclad will handle the rest in a single round of shooting and charging and be immune to his ranged fire outside of the Rupture Cannons.

Basic power fists on Sarges will also put a hurt on many of his MC's due to their WS3, add in Krak grenades and you can afford to be aggressive, a charging Tac squad will put 3-4 wounds on a Fex and quite possibly kill it on that same charge for the loss of 2 marines.

He's expecting his ~10 gaunt squads to do most of his scoring and if you're relying on 10 gaunts to do *anything* you don't really want it done, lurking on a back objective it's 3 kills to make them flee more often than not, going forward a tac squad will double tap them in a single round. Any mission where you draw objectives and you have to kill 1 6W MC and a handful of not even GEQ's to limit his score to 3VP, assuming he gets first blood. If he gets Big Guns Never Tire he might be holding an objective come game end.
He's got ~500pts of T-Fex that will put out 2 S10 hits a turn at respectable range, thats a bad investment.

I'd also advise to give him first turn if you can, you can try to steal initiative but you want to see his set up before you do. His list is slow and cumbersome and needs to come to you, spread the objectives around, let him deploy and set your whole force up on one flank. By doing this you increase the distance elements of his force must cover while ensuring your can focus on his closest troops. His army is likely working as a Phalanx, split that and each element is far easier prey.

His army has very limited marine killing power for all it's MC's, the Dakka-fex's can hurt and the T-Fex's can damage vehicles, outside of that the Tyrant is what he's got that will really hurt.

Tervigons are also charaters. Most people forget that. Basically if it is an HQ or a Unique it is a character for Nids. Tyrants ARE considered an ICs, but only to Tyrant Guard.

And the biggest and badist character killer of them all the Broodlord. The new stealer shock lists are some of the nastiest Nid lists out there now. Once people get over Nidzilla being viable again and get the thought that stealers are now rubbish out of thier heads you'll see a lot of those lists in tourny play.

I might of misunderstood you, did you just say Genestealers arent good? Im assuming Im misreading what you said, because stealers are still pretty badass. My wife runs them in 20 blobs, and it seems like I just cant shoot enough of them dead

Maybe you have to run them in 20s... 15 plus the broodlord I lose the whole unit on turn one almost every time. In cover, going to ground even.

Or maybe there just isn't enough LOS blocking terrain.

A lot of people are saying that stealers are not good anymore. The loss of Fleet letting them run and charge, random charge lengths, the changes to infiltrate and outflanking are the primary complaints. Then they throw in overwatch and call them an expensive unit that never makes it to combat.

I think they are still great units. They just have to be used diffrently then they were before.

But I think I am derailing the thread...

Ahh that makes sense then. Like I said though, my wife runs her stealers in big ass blobs, I just cant seem to shoot enough of them down before she assaults. And thats when the gak hits the fan. On that note though, I think devourergants are much better in 6th now. All those shots + overwatch is just brutal.
