Well.. removing tables for games playing (as opposed to demo playing) is an entirely different matter.
It has been many years now since a GW store (outside of the battle bunkers) was a good option to go to with your games playing friends, and it's unfortunate indeed if that is your only option to play.
Completely from GW's point of view, having the focus on a demo table or 2 makes sense (I mean really, that's the entire purpose of the store's existence), especially since all of the staff lay-offs. Although, something could be said for a parent or child coming into the store and seeing 2 people playing with well made/painted armies, I'm sure it serves as a terrific advertisement.

Exactly. Knowing that there are other players in your community makes the sale easier. No one wants to take up a game that no one plays, and no one that happens upon a GW store likely knows someone who already plays. In some areas those stores are the only public tables around.

Uhm, if there were no gaming tables at a GW store, why on earth would I want to go there? I could just order everything online via Wayland etc. and play at home / at a FLGS.
Seems like total bs rumors to me...

Sounds really fishy tbh. Saying that, its quite rare that I now go to my local GW, usally I only go if I want a day out or intend to buy something. Recently I'v focused on gaming more at my local club, granted its only Sunday nights but the club "owner" is trying to get a B&M area which will be alot more accessible than GW.
If they do remove the tables then, goodbye GW, I will still buy their products but not directly.

Are you talking about the one in London ON? Cause that one is planning on taking down their public tables. They're switching to a two man at all times operation instead of the three/four people they have running it now.
