Thank you for actually taking the time to write all of that! I really like the sound of the Jotum myself, being the fact that it can take alot of fire and is a good distraction for the weaker units I would be fielding alongside it. Not to mention the fact that I really really like the model.

No problem, I've been on the receiving end of TAGs enough times to know what to look for. Oddly I don't use them myself, I'm more of a heavy infantry fan (though with light TAGs and fast HI with good amounts of armour, the line is starting to blur already). And the Jotum is a great one. It has a good all-round weapon set while being tough as nails and manages to come in at just a little over one hundred points which means it isn't in the really expensive TAG point range either (heavy flamethrowers tend keep prices low as a secondary weapon).

So the things I have gathered:
Want many orders but need something hard hitting
Mechs: 1 is a good number
Jotum could be a nice centerpiece
Combat groups can mitigate if I want more than one mech.
Now, If I were to build from a jotum, what would you guys recommend? Machinist to keep it running for sure, but which line infantry? Auxilia? There are so many options I just don't know..

We'd recommend... the ones you prefer!
Seriously though, that's what we'll do. No choice is inferior, so... look up the rules and the models and just decide for yourself.
Though, you could buy some Nisses if you want a little theme, as they're from the same planet as the Jotum.
(You guys have no idea how hilarious it is every time I hear the word Nisses...)

Well, if you're using a Jotum as the base...you can only have 2x Auxilia in your force, period, as it will be a "vanilla" PanOceania list.
Auxilia are only AVA: Total (what makes them doable as "line infantry") in the NeoTerran Sectorial, where they become usable without any restrictions.
For a Jotum list, it depends on if you want to theme it or not. As The CF mentioned, Nisses would be very thematic...but they are very costly units points wise.

@Ronin_eX Great post !!!
What you could do before you shell out on the model is maybe set some games up with someone who does not mind you proxy'ing for a tag and trying a couple out beacuse as Ronin says they are all quite different in there own way.
Although I would say Asthetics wise I really do think Pan O have the best Tags( my opinion) my faviorte being the Cutter and Jotums therefor they are the ones i bought. Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry for the double post i didnt read page 2 lol

If you do decide that a Machinist in your force is a way to go I really recommend that you get a pal bot as well. Its cheap as chips and allows you to keep the mechinist safe behind cover and use the bot to do the running around repairing and as it has Mimetism it should be safer.

One of the best things to have with a TAG is a Total Reaction Remote. It's a great defense to have near him. Total Reation allows the remote to have a full burst in an ARO. So anyone targeting the TAG can get a face full when trying. Note also, you don't need a hacker if you have a TAG, to take remotes.
