If you want to use lysander ,then play SW . Take the anvil. He costs less does the same stuff[kills stuff] + throws his hammer doesnt take up HQ slot . In a normal marine army it is better to take an ally SW lord with or without TWC mount and the saga that gives eternal .

If you do that you go balls out an the guy is a tank, albeit an extremely expensive tank, go with runic armour,th/SS, tw mount, Saga of the bear, an his two extra wounds I mean wolves lol. By the time you have done all that he is an ungodly 280pts buy man is he fun.

Can lysander fit in a drop pod? I thought terminators cant.

413th Lucius Exterminaton Legion- 4,000pts

Atalurnos Fleetbreaker's Akhelian Corps- 2500pts

You're thinking Rhinos. Terminators can, but they take up two spaces instead of one.

Rhinos/razorbacks specifically prohibit TDA from embarking, pods lack that exception. Codex terminator squads can't take them as dedicated transports. So the only way you see it in the basic codex is ICs attached to squads.

Another point in his favor, Codex: Marine pods hold 12 models so you can fit him plus a full 10 man squad along for the ride.

I use him in all my 2500 point game since thats what my flgs plays. We like models on the table. In that list i also use marneus as my warlord, the god of war is sweet. you'll think twice about using him untill you double tough nob bikers and have them run off. Str 10 thunder hammer is nothing to laugh at.

The sternguard drop pod idea is a very awesome combo. They have to be dealt with and if someone charges them he's gonna win combat.

My order of importance as far as Codex SM are marneus, lysander and pedro

2500 point games are the standard at your FLGS? How late are they open!? I'd love to play some more games at that size though.

Sternguard with Lysander in a drop pod rules. I had a game in 5th before the newer Tyranids codex came out where they drop podded behind enemy lines, wiped out the Warriors that provided synapse to most of the army, and then punched their way through the rest. Lysander soloed a horde of Genestealers, a Broodlord, and a Carnifex like the badass he is.
