Fine with me I hope they do axe it then.

Everyday I hate GW a little bit more. Wow it's overcosted with less functionality than they could've done. Looks like I'll be sticking to my codices and main rulebook.

I think "everybody" is a bit over the top, "those few people" would be more appropriate i think

People who want it buy it, people who don't, don't.
Surely "everybody" is now happy?

I'm perfectly happy that I'm not going to be buying it.

Prestige games come with prestige prices. Boutique stores have boutique prices. Beyond that, it's priced at what the market will bear. The best way to get the price down is to simply not buy it.

"Prestige" really has become devalued as a concept these days, hasn't it?

I can't avoid feeling that our expectations of a "prestige game" should exclude rulebooks which invariably need an errata within months of publication, and models riddled with air bubbles, but maybe my standards are just unrealistically high...

Looks like the sneaky little so and so's have edited the blog post to remove the part where it said

"This App includes all of the psychic powers from the Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook and all the current Codexes that we have available, making this App an incredibly useful gaming tool. You can download the Psychic Powers App directly from the App store."

So guess rather than resolve complaints about the app and update it with appropriate content they just are trying to pretend it never said that and are trying to sweep it under the carpet

I think the fact that GW never release apps on Android has been discussed before. Apparently, it's something to do with Android apps being easier to obtain illegally and cost-free. I'm certainly not a phone-wizz, so don't hold me to that, just what I heard.

As for the app, it's a neat idea, and visually, it's fantastic. However, GW have, once again, set the price too high. So high in fact that I for one won't be buying it, and I'm sure many others are the same.

Honestly, I like the idea of digital products. The concept of having your rules, magic cards and other shenanigens all on something you'll likely be carrying with you anyway is pretty neat. Sadly though, GW really aren't selling it right. They need to sell it at a price and/or time when us lot will all buy it. At the moment, it's simply an unnecessary waste of money if we do.

$11.99 isn't really that much in the grand scheme of things, so I tried it out.

I like the functionality, but I didn't see a way to turn off the moronic sound effects.

Haha, yeah judging by the video I figured the sound effects would hugely piss me off. I don't want to hear all the "AARRRGGG!" when I'm reading gak.. surely there is a mute function right!?

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

It's actually really simple to turn the sounds off.
Go to iPhone settings, then scroll down to the psyker app, touch into it and voila... Two different sound on off switches

I don't know why people are hacking on it. Yes it could be better but it's way less of a pain in the ass than carrying a stack of cards around and it's more functional.

It's not the cards that people are comparing it to and hence saying it's bad. They're comparing it to the rulebook - something which has the contents of the app in, something you've already got so incurs no extra free, something which is relatively portable thanks to the new starter set and something you'll likely be taking to most games anyway.

Perhaps if GW had released this a month earlier, it might have been more of a hit.

Yeah, I should have thought of that myself. However, there's really no excuse for not putting a switch for that in the app itself.

Also, my oldest is using my old iphone, so he gets the app for free, since we're all tied into the same itunes account.

Still waiting for the rulebook on the iPad, myself. Psychic card app is mildly interesting but nothing I need to buy.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

FFG releases a largely supurfluous dice app for their new SW RPG. Cost? $4.99.

GW releases a largely supurfluous dice app for their new psychic system. Cost? $11.99.

Around half the apps in the world are free. Most don't even hit $5. And we get called 'haters' when we criticise them for this kinda gak.

I am willing to take bets that the entire planned Warhammer Quest Game for the iPad/iPhone will be cheaper than this one!
