The overhang was intentional. There's going to be an ammunition box attached to the back...it a round hit that...bye bye Astrid.
Although after attaching the right side...the tank does look a little silly
Will hopefully lok much better one painted...if I can obtain the final parts...I just need a hatch and a stubber.
LazzurusMan Automatically Appended Next Post: Okay guys, as I haven't got the parts I need or my brushes to paint her (plus for some reason I'm shaking like I've just been shot at) I thought I'd write up a bit of back story for Astrid and her crew, will also help to explain her over enthusiastic battle damage (oh the joys of having a lovely sharp Stanley knife).
"Target right! train, 15 degrees, armor piercing, load! A little higher Hanz, yes that's it, Fire!" Astrid's main gun bellowed, her high velocity vanquisher cannon sending death to the enemy armor. "Himmel, pull us back out of range. Hanz, load a second round and prepare to fire. They've got us locked in and are heading this way" Small arms fire bounced of the armour plating on their right flank. "Damn it we're being out flanked! Himmel, stick her in high gear and get us out of here! Hanz, fire at will, if it's big and moves, shoot it!" Astrid roared into life as they retreated, her gun firing as fast as it could, sending shell after shell screaming towards the heretic forces..
Not much...and it's not great, but hopefully it explains just how veteran the tank and her crew are...

That's an hour and a half worth of battle damage with a Stanley knife. Turned out better than I thought it would.

Looks good so far but itsnt what you have built is called a Destroyer and not a Vanquisher? I think!
Still prefer them to the bloody ugly "normal" Vanquisher with its stupidly long gun, they looks so unbalanced with the massive gun hanging out of the turret - especially the FW Styges and Gryphonne variants!

For proper side skirts, that front and back end stick out wayyyyy too far. They should not go any further forward/back than the hull of the vehicle itself (not the tracks). Actually it looks too tall as well.
Personally I would shorten it in every direction.
Draw a line (look at your top view) from the edge of the hull out to the schurzen. By the looks of it your center plate alone covers 90% of the hull.
Cut the height down to just below the tracks on the top and a little further up at the bottom as well.
Then it will really start to look like proper schurzen imo.

Right so...big update
Painted the right hand armor plates. After serious consideration I decided to leave the plates as they are...they look more like an urgent addition...as if they were found in a manufactorium, and instead of being cut to a better size, were just welded/bolted on.
I wanted to know what everyone thinks of the camo pattern I've done so far...any criticisms, ideas, tips etc are what I'm looking for

That looks pretty good. I would recommend putting more of the camo pattern at the edges of the plates though. The idea is for the pattern to disguise the hard edges and man-made lines, so not full triangles, but smaller bits and pieces of the overall pattern. I would also dull the battle damage down a bit Its a bit shiny

I have dulled down the damage, and I see what you mean with the edges. Should I continue with my grey triangle with black triangle over the top thing?

Okay...not so much as an update as a question...
Can anyone think of a way of doing an urban camo scheme better than what I have?
I really don't like it, and was hoping someone here on Dakka might have experience with Urban camo, whether it be irl or on their models. Any examples, or even tutorials would be really helpful. Bear in mind I have a very limited pallet of greys :/

How'd you make the gun? Because that's a pretty special conversion I desperately want to copy for my Vanquishers.

It kinda reminds me of a mix between a Hetzer and a Jagdpanzer. Maybe you could also shape the top so it's similar to the Stug III. Anyways, looks good so far!

The problem with your question on urban camo is that there are literally hundreds of different schemes out there. Googling a search will likely find you more material than you could hope to work with. I personally like the Blue/White/grey mottled pattern, but there are so many out there, it really boils down to preference.
Awesome work on the tank!
