Valk's fly in. blast away the stupid dragon bird things. and/or a few hydras fill the sky with flak and shred them to peices. Then the tanks of the IG steamroll the local wildlife into paste while the guardsmen slaughter the nav'i.

Tau taking on an enemy that refused the Greater Good? The vehicles in Avatar looked more like Tau vehicles than anything Imperial to me. They'd decide that the ground invasion wasn't working and glass the site from orbit. And since this is 40k and not some stupid pansy-ass 'oooh we win because we respect nature' tract it works, Pandora is turned into a smoldering rock pocked with craters, the world spirit dies, and all the blue people are set ON FIRE.

Or that's what ought to happen.
