No, you dont, because you dont assign HITS, you assign *wounds*. So you would have a precision hit, you roll vs majority leadership, and then wounds are allocated (if any exist) to the target model within the unit.

Reread precision strike / shots, that will clear the above up for you.

I'd agree with the majority opinion here and use the average (modal) as for other tests against unit characteristics.

yes so if the psyker is a character (most of them are, but i believe zoanthropes aren't) a '6' to hit with psychic shriek means you can allocate every wound that is generated from the 3d6 - Ld (using of course the majority/plurality ld value). That is quite a 'hot' 6 to roll in the game, for sure.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.
