just coming back to hobby after a few years away (damn you Mortgage ) and have bought an airbrush ( very little exp) and a lot of replies on this post have helped me greatly, and my first batch and tests turned out okay.

Extremely helpful!

My issues all resolved when I changed these steps:
Working at a tiny bit higher PSI (15 when doing details and 25-30 when basing)
Mixing out of the AB pot. I mix in a separate cup now and make sure to mix/agitate the paint + thinner really well
Making my own Airbrush thinning mix that has a flow-aid/water mixture together (Airbrush Medium, Flowaid:Windex 1:8)
Adding more thinner than I use to

The best way I've "fixed" my mixing method was trial and error. I mix 1:1 usually (My thinning mix:paint). Then I start adding more and more thinning mix OR paint depending on how it looks. If it's moving around like water I add more paint. If its moving around like a double blended frappuccino from Starbucks I add more thinning mix

Practice, lots of practice both is cleaning and painting is the best thing to do. The airbrush can be a very scary tool at first, but I promise, you'll get better with practice!
