Obama by 1.5%, taking 293 electoral college votes. Election is called when counting reveals Ohio is going to Obama.

But that's boring, and everyone is picking the same thing, so for a variation, I'd have Romney win the popular vote by 0.2%, and Obama win the electoral college, again with Ohio being the decisive state. I'd just love to see the Democrats and Republicans swing around on the their 2000 positions on the value of the electoral college

I won't take a swing at a spread but as much as I dislike it, I think it's gonna be Romney. I think it'll be by a bigger margin that even his supporters are hoping for.

I feel like there are a lot of people don't understand what the president really does, what will really change and how little power he actually has over if they get a job or not. They want a comforting face that looks like what they're used to, even if they won't admit to themselves.

Space Shuttle to Rover on Mars, implementation of DADT and the repeal of DADT, Star Wars trilogy, the evolution of MMO's, internet, rise of new nations, collapse of old nations, seeing the Berlin wall go down...can just go on. 269 though be a good one.

I'm with Kalashnikov on this one. It's too tight to call, and any little thing happening between now and November could tip the balance one way or the other.

Umm, 300 electoral college votes isn't a landslide. If you win the popular vote by about 2% you're in with a shot of winning about 300 votes, as Carter did in 1976. Hey, if things fall strangely enough you can lose the popular vote and win 300 votes, if you sneak wins in Ohio and Florida.

My money is on Obama taking somewhat more than 300 EV and Romney narrowly taking the popular vote, 1% or less.

Dems retain the senate.

My hope would be for the scenario laid earlier in the thread that resulted in a John Boehner\Joe Biden ticket, because that's the lulziest possibility.

I second this, I know sharing is caring.

I think I previously said Obama with 271 EVs and up about 1% in the popular vote, so I'll stick with that even though I now think Obama may score more EVs.

I still think Romney will make a good showing today, but not enough to win. Romney the moderate might have won, but he didn't show up until about 4 weeks ago.

No, dead on, unless Florida flips due to Absentee ballots. Very unlikely, as Obama has a 50,000 vote lead, with 200,000 Absentee ballots to count, but possible (which is why it hasn't been called yet). With Florida, results are 332 to 206.
