I'll take the ALEPH shots tonight for you CDK. Got a little flusterclucked yesterday.

As for the next step, I figure I should re-edit the front page with a list of everyone who wants to participate, and if any of you have a PM Blog with your infinity minis in it, we can go ahead and put that in next to your name.

For dealing with the mailing and whatnot, I'm sure we'll figure something out. I don't want anyone stressing out or breaking their bank over this, it's just for fun, but I dunno how much it is to ship a tiny package across the great ocean.

I'm also thinking we could do a second section in the Dakka PM Blog area, that way we could plug the game a little for the rest of the forum as we work on our projects and the like.

Sound good so far?

All sounds good!!

Yeh i'd use this thread to gather people for now, as we start up, and set up a long term one in P&M. I'll link the P&M thread in the sticky to get long term traffic from this sub-forum.

Sounds like a plan. I'm gonna go snap those photos for CDK, then write up a little list of who we have so far, their primary forces, and general locale (if they're cool with that).

Hey guys, feel free to drop that information in this thread if you haven't already!

Or I'll just stalk your photos and make wild assumptions!

Ok, so what does someone have to do to be involved in this? Sounds cool, I am just unfamiliar with the process.

I gotta say I love the Idea of an O-12 Spec Op who is assigned to work with different forces on Paradiso. He could be originaly Yu Jing and is working with a PanO force or Ariadna with Nomads. etc.

At it's basic, you PM one of the people from the list of participants and say, "Hey, I like the cut of your jib, we should do a swap."

And then the two of you work out some ideas, hammer out a trade that everyone is happy with, figure out locations and whatnot, and get painting!

Bonus points if you do WIP photos, and photos of your model when you get it.

A lot of guys don't base the models they send, so that way the receiver can base the model to fit their army themes and whatnot.

I'm just starting but I have a collection of Pan O Teutonic Knights and Ariadna Merovingian troops building up on my work bench already. I'm located in Central Pennsylvania, USA and I'll buy and paint whatever non tag model from any faction that anyone would like me to paint for them.

I have a ratehr beautiful Fiday in need of paint, as well as a second Haqqislam Spec Ops model, who is a real hardass looking model.

Since I'm most known for my glut of Haqqislam, I figure that is what best represents me for now! And I have no excess of PanO stuff at the moment anyway.

Oh, and I do have the 3rd Highlander Grey from the starter box. He'd be fun to give a coat of paint.

Wow! This is pretty damn awesome this got up so quickly!

Been in the hobby of miniature war-gaming for about 2 years and have been painting just as long. I'll do my best to put up some pictures of my work, but i'm having trouble locating my camera, so bugger that! Below are some personal disclosures of information so that you may evaluate whether or not you'd like to try a model swap.

Location: North Carolina, United States

Painting Guidelines:
I generally paint with Citadel brand. If you want the best results you might have to settle for that. Though i'm not averse to trying new things as long as they don't break the bank!

Color Scheme Guidelines:
All shades of purple, Off white, Purple/Black washes, grey.

Faction Guidelines:
Single Model Blisters from (1) ALEPH (2) Haqqislam (3) Yu Jing.

Time Guidelines:
I'm a slow painter, but for something such as this I pretty much put all projects on hold til this is finished. Process from start to finish (Ordering the model, having it shipped to me, assembling, painting, packaging and shipping it to you.) Would probably take between 2 weeks and a month. I'm a patient guy, so it doesn't matter if you're a slow painter either, long as you keep me updated!

So as you can see, I'm pretty damn open to anything you'd like to have done! Long as you're willing to take a chance on me, I'll be willing to paint ya a fierce model.

Thanks in advance, guys. I think this is gonna be pretty shweet!

Holy crap! Somebody knows about Durham NC! I live in the Asheville area. Weaverville, specifically. I also have a home in Winston-Salem (My parents do). I go to Durham every so often to see friends.

You'd be surprised.

I'm over in Raleigh, and there's at least one other Infinity oriented person here on Dakka who lives in the Triangle.

Color Scheme Guidelines:
None. If you want it yellow with purple polka dots, you can have it. You'll just have to give me some time to make it look good. That said, I am VERY preferential to schemes with purple in them.

Faction Guidelines:
I can pretty much garner whatever model you'd want. I have no current Infinity army to my name, so you'd pick a selection of models, I'd pick which (single model blister) looked the coolest to me, and then order it. Try to avoid TAGs though. I'd rather keep this on the less expensive side

I would aim for having a preferred faction that you want to represent, that way people don't use you as a Painting and Modelling Service for their own army.

As for paint schemes, the purpose is to have your own schemes and styles represented in other people's forces, so I think it would be that you choose the schemes, rather than having someone else dictate you stuff. If you have fluff reasons for it all the better.

Anda s for painting with Citadel Paints, I do too! It's what I've learned on, and what I'm most comfortable with. Every now and then I'll branch out with a Vallejo color or something when I need something I just can't find, but otherwise my case is full of GW Pots.

That is some crazy shiz right there! I should plan a trip to Raleigh and get some proxy models to play some infinity! Haha.

Thanks for the suggestions! After you reasoned out why having no boundaries on scheme or faction was a bad idea, I realized it too I edited the post to reflect my favorite color schemes and factions. Is three still too much?

Nah, not at all! Infinity has us dabbling in so many things after all. I have three different forces I've been working on, Haqqislam being my primary, then Ariadna, and PanO. All three with their own distinct color schemes and whatnot.

Okay so I'll definitely be taking part with my Nomads but I'll need to start my own first so you guys can see what's on offer! Has anyone taken part yet? If not maybe it's time we get the ball rolling? I'd happily arrange one with you in advance Chem to set an example if you want. You'll be going in blind though without any previous photos from me.

Am I thick, or I'm having a hard time getting my head wrapped around this?

I've never done a swap before, but the idea sounds cool, I'm just fuzzy on the details. So here's a couple of questions:

1)Do I paint one of my models and send it to someone else, asking for their paint scheme?

2)Do I send one of my unpainted models, and it comes back with someone else's paint scheme on it?

Here I am, lighting flares, trying to get to the bottom of this! Help me out.

It's okay it's a simple idea but it can be confusing to start with. Best thing to do is have look at the Great Marine Swap thread, it's the Father to this one.

Simply put though:
1) Agree a trade with someone. Normally via private message so you don't feel pressured into saying yes.
2) Paint a model from your own faction in your own army's colours.
3) Post said painted miniature to the person you agreed to trade with.
4) Await the other persons reciprocative miniature.

Other things to consider are whether the person has asked you to paint the a shoulder or helmet a different colour. Or if they want the base left black so they can base it to match their own models. Or do they want a miniature with a certain weapon loadout or a certain unit type. In this case I think a lot of people will want some 0-12 styled additions to your paint scheme. Unless you play aliens...

Alright.

See, I thought I would receive someone's miniature from their respective army and paint it go jive with my colours, then send it back to them.

No that that's out of the way, who wants a mini from me? I do PanO, I can try to cater to pretty much any paint scheme, and I know I have to order stuff from Meeplemart this week, or the next. PM if you want to trade! I do international, no problem.

Since Chem isn't around and we want to get this going I'm going to restart this thread tomorrow so I can keep the OP up to date and help people out easily. I'll post a link here.

The only reason I won't do that is if it raises dispute in the Campaign: Growing Our Community thread.

So you might want to wait til tomorrow Mat. If everything goes ahead I'll outline the rules and show people how to avoid being scammed and such. And I'll outline Chem's 0-12 squads idea for anyone who wants to use it.
