In one of the HH books it is mentioned that Leman Russ and the Space Wolves were sent after one of the lost legions and exterminated them. And once again, the wolves are sent after the Thousand Sons and told to bring them in.
And yet, one of the Ultramarines develops a theoretical combat doctrine of fighting other space marines, and he gets censured.
Sorry for the slightly OT comment, I've just been reading Know No Fear.
Even Abnett writes some stupid stuff from time to time.
I think he was trying to come up with a clever explanation for the red helmets on Sergeants. He failed. Oh well.
Though, to be fair, there's no confirmation that either the missing legions were destroyed by the Space Wolves, just like there is no confirmation that one or both of them were absorbed by the Ultramarines. In fact, most of the more believable evidence points away from either of those.

There is no evidence whatsoever for the two missing legions. Fluff wise you *could* say that they no longer exist.

THATS NOT TRUE, STOP SAYING THAT
Lol
but seriously thats not true at all. Those were rumors that 2 Word Bearers were talking about to each other and the other one told him he didnt know what he was talking about.
The others books make it CLEAR that is not true. Hell in Mechanicum Rogal Dorn plays with the idea OF CONTACTING THEM SO THEY CAN HELP IN THE HH.
Malcador dismesses the idea and wording makes it sound like even if the Imperium wanted too, they could not use them for one reason or another. Exactly what happened to them is not clear but it IS confimed that:
All the Primarchs were found and united with their legions
They assisted in the Great Crusade
Disobeyed the Emperor and were punished
The Legions themselves physically still exist during the HH
Whatever happened to the Primarchs shame the other Primarchs and agreed to never speak of them again.

It is strongly rumored that more light will be shed in the upcoming HH Malcador book, as the cover features the numerals II and XI on his throne.........

After thinking about it for a while, I don't think it's all that dumb. The primarchs sort of knew that Russ was the Emperor's executioner, and that he alone could bear that burden. So perhaps Guilliman didn't feel it was his place. Though I believe that does go against some of the things the Ultras say in Know No Fear.

But I think more light will be shined upon them in the Malcador book indeed.

Come into my web, said the spider to the fly.
Come rest your wings, and let us talk eye to eye.
For I am a spider, and you are the fly. Now that you are here, let us sit, and say hi.
But I have have no morsel to share, nor anything to eat. But wait, what is that stickiness upon your feet.
Ah now I have you, now I can eat. Now I can enjoy you, or store you as meat.
For I am the spider, and you are the fly. How else could it have gone, between one such as you, and one such as I.

They are, all of the traitor legions are listed as Excommunicate Traitoris, which removes them from Terra's databses, the hall of heroes's honor roll, and body is incinerated should they be caught. The problem is that we're getting all the information the average imperial citizen doesn't know. Edit: We are also given 10 thousand years of history, whereas the average imperial citizen get's something along these lines: "The ancient events of the Horus Heresy have long since passed into myth within the Imperium. The average Imperial citizen is entirely ignorant of the tumultuous events of the Imperium's founding... Indeed, records of the full horror of the Heresy are only preserved by the daemonhunting Inquisitors of the Ordo Malleus, and perhaps within the memories of the Emperor himself." - Codex: Chaos Space Marines (4th Edition), Page 17.

Anyway, I'm pretty certain that the homeworld of one of the Lost Legions was Moros. Or is that a spelling mistake?

I've no idea which one, but the fact they were left blank for players to fill in was confirmed by Abnett in one of the Black Library youtube vids.
Note they were likely originally left blank not for 40k players to fill in, but for EPIC players back when said game system was set during the Horus Heresy - for example the the full Space Marine 1st edition marine list example was Andy Chambers homebrew 'legion' The Valedictors - who did not suddenly become a canonical member of the 1st founding,
