I would disagree based on the wording in the codex. Mub Rule does not change the LD value, but as per the wording in the codex, provide an "alternate" LD value. Just like the addition of high LD IC to a unit provides an alternative LD to the unit.

Happy - that is just because that is a set value that is applied last, so they have set one value to X then reset it to 2

But per the lash whip faq, set modifiers are applied in the owning players turn, so if the orks charge, since it us their turn they could decide to have the grenade effect go first then mob rule.
I see it as Leadership 7(X) where X is the number of orks in the unit. This also works in conjunction with page...I forget, the one that describes characteristic tests.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Except mob rule states it replaces their leadership with the number of boyz, so that means you dont get to denote it as 7(X), it is 7 OR X

Based on the following i would have to disagree:
Q: Are units with either the Stubborn or Mob Rule! special rules
effected by the ‘They’re horrible’ result of the psychotroke grenade?
(p60)
A: Yes, such units will be reduced to Leadership 2. However a
unit with the Mob Rule! special rule that has 11 or more
models will still be Fearless.
Well, technically that FAQ only applies to Stubborn and Mob rule when interacting with Psychotroke Grenades.
Against other things, Mob Rule will still be a set modifier.
Stubborn however is not a set modifier. It simply means you never take a penelty for losing combat, other effects that alter your leadership will still come into play.

I had my winged Hive Tyrant with the warlord trait that he uses his lowest leadership and then I dropped my Doom in a spore pod. He said he could always sub the 10 leadership in so he rolled a 15 with one orc unit and a 13 with the other, so he should have taken causalities vs a 7 not the 10?
Also what roll does he need when I hit him with brainleech worms? He said this still a 10 as it could be a sub in at anytime.

They are Leadership (number of orks in mob, max 10). If, they were at say 6 models and an attached IC (so 7 models total) they would be forced to use the Ld 7.

He had at least 11 in each group but should he use the lowest leadership value of a 7 (bc/ of my warlord ability) or he should take the test on a 10 with mob rules? Basically does mob rules bring it back up to a 10 vs the Dooms ability?
The brain leech worms when he went to 10 orcs does he make his test on a 9 leadership or does mob rules trump the worms and put him back at 10?

Mob rule specifically says that you substitute the # of orks for their LD value. This replaces every LD value of every ork in the mob and makes it 10.
Therefore 10 is the lowest in that situation.

Mob rule replaces the Leadership of the models with that number.
