I think the motto of the Imperium is

"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to."

The bit at the begining of the 2009 movie of GI Joe kinda makes me think of Guardsmen on foot against SM on foot.[/quote

I would appreciate it if that film is never mentioned again.

Ensiferum reminds me of Space Wolves. Specifically Ragnar tearing through people. Especially the older songs, like Battle Song.

Of course I went back to read the Ragnar omnibus again and couldn't believe I got through it the first time. The Space Wolves viking vibe unsuprisingly goes very well with Finnish Folk Metal.

The movie Battleship. If that's not Tau, then i don't know what is.

Basically any war movie set in the 20th century looks like one IG regiment or another.

Event Horizon is super 40k style, great movie too.

Starship Troopers came out at the height of my first wargaming obsession, handy that I played Guard and my friend Tyranids

The opening scenes of Bladerunner reminded me of some kind of hiveworld, especially with the dilapidated street-level segments.

Battle Los Angeles.

Iconic Guard vs Tau - really fething cool loking Tau to boot! (they even had what looked like plasma/heat-based basic weaponry and fired rocket-pod type clusters of missiles!)

And Aaron Eckhart kicking @$$? Total win for me!
