I Have a planned Thousand sons army at 1500 which runs Ahriman and a level 3 Tzeentch Sorcerer. The sorcerer is planning on aiming for hallucination and invisibility rolling twice on telepathy and once on Tzeentch.
Ahriman will be handling the witchfire and my Sorcerer will be buffing the Thousand sons squads and or debuffing the enemy.

I'm aware that its not the most effective way to play but the list will end up fluffy so I'm Not to worried about that.

For anyone that's interested my sorcerer can be found here. http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/438118-Thousand%20sons%20Sorcerer.html

looks good. I assume the MoT is for fluff or you are thinking of taking a Sigil. I like the axe, I think all sorcs should rock axes as most thing you want to ID have 2+ saves. I would run mine with terminator armor instead of power armor + sigil. I like the 2+/4++(and combibolter) better than the 3++.

MoT is indeed more for fluff than anything else I don't think ill give him Sigil due to the amount of points he is running at level 3 with a spell familiar but it is an option that's on the table if I can find the points. I agree with you about Axes though if you where going to roll for Iron Arm I can see a use for Staffs.

I don't tend to like the MOT powers because of the amount of extra rolls involved in using them. A power level is expensive on a sorc and I can imagine myself being happier with more troop units and special weapons or neat toys like fliers or allies.

I'm also not sold on them as combat monsters/transferable upgrades. Chaos needs an HQ I guess so there's a reason to invest in such a thing, but it seems too dicey to me. I also don't often play with big special units that seem like wise investments for upgrades or units with space for a Sorc in them (rhinos). I might be more inclined when I start playing with big meatgrinder units or chosen or EC again, but so far I'm just not excited.

I did have a friend hit me with a fire shield + iron arm Sorc one day, that was really funny, I think it ended up with 9 strength or something and it just bumbled it's way through combat.
