Are the board pieces interchangeable? And yes I know It wouldn’t be "Carentan" if you mixed up the streets, or am I getting ahead of myself?

The Pieces arn't really interchange as some roads end in different place to others if that makes sence, so they would not fit correctly. Thanks for the comment!
