Groups like the Deathshroud, the Phoenix Guard, and the Morlocks weren't just the Primarchs' bodyguards. That was one role they filled, but they were also elite strike forces, typically the best of the Legion. Groups of them would be deployed in theaters of war without the Primarch, because they were the best warriors they had. A Primarch's bodyguard is a wholly ceremonial job, no Primarch actually needed a bodyguard. That was just one role they filled as a sign of honor for their skill.

Updated to version 1.8

Angron and Guilliman are in, the latter of which hopefully has rules that represent his tactical intellect.

Magnus' stats have also been added. I'm thinking of leaving him as a MC Character, owing to his "huge even for a Primarch" size. Wargear and rules will follow soon.

Updated to v1.9

Horus and Lorgar have been added. Horus is unchanged from his HH:B entry.
Magnus' wargear has been adjusted.

As usual please post comments and helpful suggestions. Above all let me know if anything about any of the Primarchs seems OP.

Magnus is not nearly powerful enough psychically. He's the strongest psyker in the universe behind the Emperor and possibly Malcador, he should be at least Mastery Level 6, probably closer to 8. And that shot shouldn't consume all of his warp charge, maybe just two. These rules don't really reflect just how powerful he is.

Magnus is easy to do with the book powers, just allow him to pick his powers before taking a test, also immune to perils of course
