So in a moment of craziness shortly after taking a break from reading some Horus Heresy. I decided why would this game ever have to end? Warhammer never ends right? so if you had a dedicated group of people that got together on a weekly basis to play. you guys probly hammer out alot of games right? so what if every game you played had a point. Like universal domination. So i made this map to go with everything. Each circle is a galaxy map with its own group of planets.

Wargey, are you talking about the Salamander pic i used in the data plate?

I love how well thought out this is... but each ring on the dot represents an area of the galaxy that is measured in many hundreds of light years. You really want to fight over mere planets there? Why not have each bubble be whole systems where the war is engulfing many thousands of planets at once.

ENOZONE yeah I still haven't figured out how to make that work, scale/travel what not, I simply threw that together as a possible expansion concept

Are you going to do a profile for ever planet. Have each one a systum like on is the noctrune systum one has blackwater and the hive world you were talking about

that was the general idea, some would only have a few planets, some would have many. There'd be a system map for each circle and then maps for each planet contained within the system

Perhaps it would be better to have a sub-sector conflict rather than a galaxy wide conflict. In a sub-sector conflict, you can still have detailed planets - armies and navies clashing over important resources and still feel like a complete badass when you win. In a galaxy, or even sector wide conflict, the amount of resources needed to even represent such a war would exhaust any individual hobbyist - and would seem unrealistic and cheesy without dumbing down the universe to the point of an elaborate risk game.

So what your saying is have each bubble be key planets in the system rather then having strategically unimportant planets?

Probly not Wargey, If I did try and make money off this I'd probly go straight to jail lol. None of the art work, textures, symbols, are mine. The only thing that is created by me is the concept, names of planets and territories and rules

I'm suggesting you think harder than even that:

Either you play on the galactic scale and remove the concept of "planets" and fight over whole regions of space, such as sub-sectors and sectors like countries and continents respectfully on a Risk board with armies that are beyond the scale of imagination,

Or

Scale down your game to a single sub-sector and keep it mostly the way it is now.

Why:
A single planet - other than Terra, Cadia, and Mars really doesn't make a huge difference on a galaxy wide scale. Your game as it stands is too large to incorporate the details of small planets, and too small to grasp the actual size of the Imperium. Finding that medium will grant you the seal of approval with many 40k players because you have already put a great deal of effort into this and it shows.

gotcha, makes sense....anything any bigger then what i already have made would take literally forever to play and win. Not to mention the time it would take me to create each planet and map. I really like the scale it is now, one galaxy. I really only included the Universe map because I liked the idea of a never ending Risk/Warhammer game it would combine my two favorite table top games, and make them last FOREVER lol.

But I agree with you in that either keeping it the scale I have or play on the galactic scale and remove the concept of "planets" and fight over whole regions of space, such as sub-sectors and sectors like countries and continents respectfully on a Risk board with armies that are beyond the scale of imagination,

So if I did want to play a Universe size game, I should scale it down to just a map of a key world for that region of space?

I'm not sure about dakka, maybe ask a mod to post the pdf?

You could just create a open face book group, then put the pdf there, or any other file hosting site you prefer.

You can using the attachment button.

If it is wargaming related (which this is) it should be fine.

And I really like the look of this! Great job!

Thanks Matt for the info. Just giving an update since the project has been moving slower then it use to. I'll have some more stuff up tonight but it's being downgraded in priority to an "only on weekends" project due to school starting this week. But fret not for I always finish what I start....

do you guys think the ability cards would be easier to understand if I just put a number representing the energy cost next to the title, or keep i the way it is with a little blurb at the end for the cost
