Orks, because...ORKS!

I've loved the green gitz since RT.

Doesn't help that i'm such a Mekboy myself.

Iz it workin'? Nah.

Kick it/punch it.

Still not workin'

Moar Rivetz and den rewire it! An' paint it red...

Also DE.

Love the new look. A bit less like they raided Tatooine and jacked all of Jabba's rides. Love the fluff, especially the Haemonculi coven stuff...

Gotta be Orks. There is a major charm to their comedic brutality that I cant get over.

Again I apologize for the innacuracies in the army polls, if I could edit the list I would :(

Kain on Tzeentch:
The negative so far outweighs the positive that it creates a vicious cycle, with Chaos ensuring more bad things(TM) and largely only bad thigs happen. The fact that the major Xenos are mostly donkey-caves doesn't help, especially since the Imperiumis in turn, a bunch of donkey-caves.
Thus Tzeentch, god of donkey-caves, is the most generally successful. Because out of this huge pile of donkey-caves, none are more dickish than the great blue Jerk.

Pretty sure if you edit the OP, you can edit the poll.

Other: Sisters of Battle. No, not Ordo Hereticus. I don't like the Inquisition as a military force. That's not what they're good at.

Sisters of Battle are the best humanity has to offer, in Games Workshop's words "shining examples of all that is good about humanity". The Imperial Guard is a close second.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

I like Eldar. I find that their background is the most fascinating. While Marines are cool, they really are just warmongering Mon-keighs.

Orks are hilarious, but I had to vote Imperial Guard.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Elite Tyranid Warrior

1. Tyranids. A giant mass of monsters slowly traveling across the galaxy destroying everything in their path. They have no emotion and no feelings. They can't be reasoned with. You either kill them or die.

2. Orks. Because they are Orks and I enjoy their sense of goofy construction.

3. Space marines. They are big, buff, power fantasy fulfilling fighters.

Canifex Quote: I love Rhinos. They are crunchy on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside.

Imperial Guard.

I love them simply for the fact that they are basic humans thrown into the grinder. When I first started, I ran orks, and bought what I thought looked cool. I only really knew about Eldar, Orks and Chaos Space Marines because thats what myself and my friends used, and I was never in the store long enough to look at anything but my beloved orks.

After a few months though, my dad decided to buy some guys too to give me someone to play against when I was at home and came home one day with the cadian command squad box, two boxes of shock troopers and the codex. I was in love.

Guard have been my go to army since that day

Plus, nothing says cool like charging a gigantic alien monster with your wall of bayonets.

@Afrodactyl: That made me lol
I have a budding interest in all the armies in this game tbh. When i pick up a game I learn what all of my opponents can do in some form so I can be a better genreal but between limited time and a tiny wallet I find myself quite limited in what i can do :(

Space Marines with their nice armor are what got me interested in 40k originally when I saw the Space Hulk video game pics when it was new. I took me 'til June '12 to actually pick up the hobby, but of course it was as Space Marines - BT, more specifically.

A great rival is the Orks. I like Orks in general, in the Warcraft universe for example. But in WH they're even cooler probably, despite me generally not liking to play on the evil side (of course, in 40k there's no real good/evil anyway).

Chaos Marines are nice too. Generally they have the nice armor of the Space Marines, but more ornate which is nice.

Sisters of Battle.

To me, they are a perfect blend of the Space Marines' (my very first 40k minis) heroics and style with the Imperial Guard's (my second-favourite army) "normal humans" vibe. Add religious fervour to the mix and you've got the perfect paladins. A whole army of Jeanne d'Arcs, their fanatical faith driving them to nigh-miraculous deeds on the battlefield, their purity like a tender flower yet holding fast against corruption and blasphemy as they wage their holy wars against the many enemies of mankind within and without.
Their visual style is an excellent representation of the entire IP's idea of mixing gothic with sci-fi, so much so that parts of their design have now been adapted by other armies.
And finally, the Ecclesiarchy hits just the right spot of Grimdark™ for me, being almost comically silly in some parts, inspiring in others, and just frightening in their malicious zeal and power elsewhere.

pretre wrote:Yeah, that's not correct anymore. A lot of things changed with 6th edition. Grey Knights are basically the militant order for all the orders now. Sisters are back to being the army of the Ecclesiarchy (as they should be).
Hmmh... The only change was that GKs can now be called in by any Inquisitor, but from how I understood the 6E rulebook's small textbox on the Inquisition forces, they still form the Ordo Malleus' Chamber Militant, just like the Deathwatch and the Sisters are still the Chambers Militant of the Ordos Xenos and Hereticus, respectively. The Sororitas never stopped being the army of the Ecclesiarchy, it's just that a lot of people apparently missed that part in the 3E stuff. I'd wager most got it from hearsay, though, and that seems to seriously twist the facts.

My money goes on Tau. I think they're just as evil as everyone else, just with a much greater degree of subtlety.
