Not if it's in the same unit that popped the transport. Not sure if it would still apply to a Target Lock.

It doesn't. All shooting is declared simultaneously, even if you roll dice separately. Target locks merely let you declare shots at two different targets, they don't allow you to hold your fire and wait until you see the results of the first shots before declaring targets for the second round.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

The correct answer to this question is magnets.

but really it depends on your play style.

personally FB/MP seems at odds with each other as one is meant for long range harass and light vehicle killing, while the other is meant for short range vehicle/teq killing.

i still believe its best to take FB with only PR and the missile pods should only ever be taken as twin linked.

I actually run MP/FB/TA for light to medium anti armor. Notice the lack of a multi tracker. I bounce around the MP till I get a good line on something for the FB, unload the FB and go back to MP. This is a pretty task dedicated unit and I was mostly drive to this by DSing units. I have looked at going TLMP/FB, but think I would rather have BS4 all around.

I personally feel that having 2 guns that cannot be fired at once is a waste of points.
If you DS a lone unit that goes MP/FB/TA you might as well make it a TL and give it HWMT.

Not that I like that unit in general, I much rather use my suits as point-black exterminators. (plasma/fusion, plasma/burst and plasma/MP are the common suits I use. If i know i face a non-marines a TLFL and AFP might appear.)

I don't deep strike, I get DS'd. Landraiders, DropPod, MCs, Terminators and what not, I found it to be a useful squad, for those times when some thing just shows up suddenly in my face that needs a big gun.

If you know their list is built of deep strike, deny the opportunities by spreading out your forces. If done correctly, you can dictate where your opponent has to land. Force him to table edges and terrain and into units that are ancillary to your strategy/able to deal with the deep striking forces.

Does an army with railguns really need melta? The whole point of melta is to bust armor. It's better to lob railguns from 72" and stay the hell away. Use missile pods and plasma rifles and dance away from your opponent the whole time.

That's where other factors come into play.

If yo have lots of Railguns, Meltas are surplus against armour. However the Broadsides are slow and some players prefer a more mobile force using Hammerheads - which carry less railguns.

Alternatively, the local meta game could be so tank heavy that even taking several broadsides, you don't have the anti-tank firepower to do the job.

Finally, the Fusion Blaster is not just a tank killer. At 12 inches, on a suit with a fusion blaster, plasma-rifle and a multi-tracker you put out three shots that ignore all armour, one of them likely causing instant death. On a full team of such suits you have 9 such shots. this is a great deathstar killing unit.

Hmmm. Okay then. Maybe I'd use one squad of deathrain, one of helios and one of fire knife and call it a day. Because in all comers, you have no idea what is optimal. One of each gives you overlap.
