You can you ues marker lights for kroot? but anyway, maybe you're right guardsman can be better meatshields and better survivability and orks are better cc but I reitorate; the one thing setting kroot apart is still the infiltrate rule, I have done severe damage sheerly by being in the right place at the right time through flanking, something that to my knowledge only ork komandos and who knows what guard can do

Jeez ! completely forgot about that :-/ hope that didn't ruin my last 2 games :-/ Thx for the reminder.

Well, I still gonna use the Kroots as mentionned, except they'll fire at BS3.

Who needs markerlights when you have Eldrad casting 2 Prescience or codex SM Space Marine Librarian? Re-rolls to hit for a whole turn!

I really hope you aren't using prescience with a C:SM librarian because then you'd be cheating.

Al'rahem outflanks an entire platoon, which is better than Kroot, and Harker outflanks a veteran squad, which is also better than Kroot.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Sticking with the kroots (besides as Peregrine says, there are better options using allies slot), you can always outflank the kroot squad with an attached IC shas'el (using acute senses) and cause some mayhem. Beware you cannot assault straight away when coming from reserves and if you attach an IC you can't infiltrate them.

Could be useful for linebreaker or diverting some dakka from your deployment zone.

Haven't yet, through good catch! Didn't realize no Divination.

Eldrad is much better though having Divination and being able to cast the same psychic power twice.

Another nasty combo for any Tau + SM Biomancy is Enfeeble on a Death Star unit followed by Railguns. Instant death Tervigon anyone?

SM Librarian with null zone and gate of infinity, attached to an unit of Crisis with plasma rifle (and/or fusion gun). I find it nice to kill necron wraiths as soon as possible.

Kroot are priced in a 4th edition codex. Orks and IG are running 5th edition. Let's see what the Tau update looks like.

No, it just improves it.

Works great for stealth suits, as they got both. less so for crisis, they got no outflank from the firstplace. (the more I look at the codex the more I realise how much did crisis suits lost in the 5th to 6th transition! everything they used to do special became common! now the only thing the are "special" for is the customization...bloody hell...)

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.
