ok so decided to add aquilla to the front, a doohicky over the eye as suggested, as well as testing the idea of a chainhorn, I also started thinking of what to top off the spear with, the idea in my head was as a priest he sees himself as the light of the emperor in the darkness of heresy, and nothing gets your attention in the dark better then light so glowing coals and bells would help him "stand out"

Thats one evil unicorn Personally I think the Eagle at the back is to heavy looking myself I would loose that, go for some kind of techy looking pack maybe a bed roll and some other things like ammo pouches ect slung on the back instead.

Also I would try to update the lance a little, make a laser lance or stun lance add a few buttons maybe wiring or power supply (like a power sword) thats my thoughts any way.

I was thinking maybe some kind of tattered robe (made out of GS ) over the bottom half of his legs to give him more of a traveller feel.

Maybe somehow tech the lower half of his legs as well, otherwise he will just look like an Empire knight with 40k bits stuck on.

the whole concept is sound... the amo backsaide of the horse i particularly i like! i think maybe you could do a nice fitting conversion for a side gun with a kroot longrifle(shortened of course to look like a winchester...) instead of a bolter... too heavy looking for this fella...

the head i am a bit annoyed of... as the gaged one looks off for such a rider of importance...

also... the lance looks too long for me... rather than a lance... maybe he coould hold a voxcasting thingy onna stick?

the new bionic eye of the horse is cool! don´t change a thing there... what i am not too fond of is the horn... dunno if it fits this concept at all...but most definatly play more with your bitz box... that rider is heading a lonesome road towards greatness^^

See I really liked the crazy idea of the horse having a mouthspeaker in its mouth, like a vox grill or something, and the priest has the bit in his mouth to stop him speaking. I think it'd add some real flavour to the miniature, and adds to the craziness of 40k!

today was moderatly succesful, turned that ugly blob of starter set dwarf into a cool little henchman guy, and I also painted with coffee which turned into a mutant thing based off of the rider from that chaos warshrine... going to try and get some white primer this weekend and paint at least the sniper and pirate brute... maybie even the scavengers if im lucky

@ ldd & vik I see what you guys are saying and I will try to adress your ideas...
- ldd I love the idea of tattered robe hanging down to cover armored legs, definatly priest like and I want to use that
- vik unihorn is gone i ended up making an under barrel chainblade for the ratling
- I definatly want to trade the lance out for a pole instead, might keep the top the same though not sure but its definatly not going to be a weapon because I dont imagion my character caring for the toils of war
- that being said im trying to get a tau friend to trade me some kroot bits but he likes them just as much as me!
- and lastly I know you guys dont like the heavy aquilla, but im going to keep it. my idea was like how the romans carried around those annoying golden eagles, very inpratical but he has so much faith in the emperor that he will force the burden apon himself (and his horse) to spread the word of the emperor.. which is also why I gaged him, kind of symbolizing the fact that he speaks for the imperium and not of himself
@ghosty im glad you liked it because so did I, but unfortinatly I dont have anything that would be a sutible speaker for the horse and im afraid of it looking weird but I'll keep an eye out (plus I love your location )

thanks vik I hope not to disapoint, but in fairness its hard to take a good pic of it and I havent yet, once I start gluing it together and sculpting I'll take some better pictures of it to show you why I like it

If the lance is not a weapon why not add the large book backed on the wood frame from the flagellants sprue and add an aquilla to the top of the pole (like true Roman style ), this would free the back of the horse for other gear to be added and lift the 40kness.

Rogue Wolves, I just stumbled across this thread an am so happy I did. There's so much WIN in here. Great concepts and builds, man. Look forward to seeing more and some paint.

@Moltar thanks a ton! Im glad people enjoy my works unfortinatly for you (and a real damper in my parade) it was raining today so no primer.. meaning I probibly wont get to paint these till i stop by GW next saturday, but I'll try to cut that time down

speaking of pieces I got some primer today and started working on the skin of some of the models, too dark right now but tomorrow I'll throw some pictures up, hope to work on these guys throughout this and next week

Thanks a ton Neil your one of my big inspirations (in art and model) so it means alot! Glad you like my ogre face, I'd really like to see yours too, a cool conversion I think to get a nice large guy (I just like painting skin too much)

Seeing how traffic died off let me give a quick text update, since family was visiting recently I didn't get much done but I glued together the priest and got most of the skin done on the first batch of models, tomorrow i will start sculpting on the priest as well as continue painting so a picture update will happen then

The traffic died when the pictures stopped waiting on updates words mean nothing

Sorry about the wait, as I said (and showed) in my other thread I was helping my sister build a cool set for an Avengers Parody (and started Chaos dwarves/bloodbowl mod hockey team, even with that happening I got some work done, still have 1-2 layers left on the skin then I'll fiddle with gimp to test some schemes... thanks for reading

These are looking good. The flamer guy looks very interesting although I think you need to neaten the GS work up a bit. The dude in the helmet with the flail is so cute, he would make a great juve in Necromunda, he looks like he has stolen his dad's helmet and run off to war - lots of character!

The 6th pic down - the guy with the shotgun - is really great, good sense of movement, good pose, everything about him works well.
