Welcome to Round 12 of the League of Extraordinary Riveters Terrain Contest.
Wall me up, Fence me in

My thoughts were we could have a look at creating some more useful terrain for our boards/collections that has a purpose and doesn't neccessarily require a huge amount of work, bearing in mind the coming season is often time-heavy for a lot of people.
And so...the simple (or not-so-simple) fence - it can be used to break line of sight, partition sections of the table, act as cover, create pathways, and many other things beside (or so I'm led to believe by what I pick up from those weird peeps that actually like to use their toys for gaming - those of us who struggle just to build and maybe paint stuff can use them to corral our hordes, to create nice displays, or just to extend our reach when that torso we need is just that little too far away on the work-bench)
Laser grid systems, concrete blocks, junk barricades, barbed wire....all these and many, many more are covered by my very, very broad definition of 'fences'. I'd like to see at least two pieces for each entry that will span a total of about 12 inches between them (I think this works well for most systems), but feel free to go longer and have more.
Rules:
1. There needs to be at least two pieces of linear type terrain (fence, wall, electro-cordon, ruins, henges or anything of similar ilk), that cover approx. 12 inches between them.
2. It should be scratch-built or heavily converted.
3. Any scale, any gaming system or even none are acceptable.
4. It can be purely playable terrain, or diorama based.
5. Post the occasional
WIP in this thread, and of course links to more
WIPs on your own threads or galleries or blogs. Have at least 1
WIP of the unpainted or unfinished project please, and with a mini on a recognizable base size (25mm) for scale.
6. Final entry - Six or more photos of your final entry, showing all the important parts - not to be posted in this thread.
PM me with links to your galleries, albums, whatevers.
If you've ever stumbled across one of my blogs you'll probably know I have no issues with pushing the boundaries a bit - if you think you have an idea that doesn't quite seem to fit let me know and chances are I'll go with an Aye vote
I've said approx. 12 inches, I'm not going to be exact, I'm more interested in seeing useful and interesting terrain that looks the part. (but 8 inches just isn't even approximate is it now ladies?)
For diorama based entries there needs to be approx. 12 inches of 'fence' in place - and yes, I'd still like to see two separate elements here - I'll let you figure out how to apply that.
Timescale:
Notifications and links to be sent to me by Midnight Sunday 28th December. I'm hoping that with the aid of a caffeine/amphetamine mix set up on a drip this will allow me to get results up by the end of the year.
By my reckoning that's just over 10 weeks.

Eastern-EST: 7pm on December 28th
Central-CST: 6pm on December 28th
Mountain-MST: 5pm on December 28th
Pacific-PST: 4pm on December 28th
Judging: (to be confirmed)
I need to work on this a bit more, but this should do for starters...
Modelling - 50 points to play for
Painting - 30 points to play for
Interpretation - 10 points to play for
Coolness - 10 points to play for
Modularity Bonus - An undisclosed bonus for how well the pieces can be used together (absolutely and entirely subjective - could be two pieces that fit perfectly, or four pieces that fit together in a variety of ways)
For diorama pieces this will be applied to how you've dealt with the rule of having at least two pieces....
Yep - that's over 100 I know - I was taught to score by Tufnell and Smalls
*** I will try to give further breakdowns on each of those categories, and this may mean I decide to change some of those points slightly...but I'd rather get something up now than leave you waiting for comp details whilst I muck about trying to perfect a scoring system
Those that know me are (probably painfully) aware that I'm a modeller over a painter, and therefore feel it only fair to base my scoring system towards that.
The Judges:
Dredd, Death, Fire and Mortis.
Oh...you wanted the competition judges....well, that'll be me then. Tough call here, at present I'm thinking I might try to fly it solo, just to let everyone have a go and building.....however I have a feeling I may regret that come the actual Day of Judgement, so if for some weird reason you really, really don't want to enter, but really, really do want to make choices between x's rusty old chain-link and y's old rusty barbed wire shoot me a
PM
Prizes:
First Prize: League membership of course, the prize of kings (or at least, kings that like to play with toy soldiers). As if that's not enough there's probably some sort of pot'o'bits - a random selection to encourage more interesting work, plus if I can, a few bits geared towards the winner's specific interests.
2nd prize: More of just a random pot'o'bits here.
There's the possibility that I may put some kind of build together for one or both of these...but I'm not going to promise that as I'd really hate for peeps to still be waiting on me come round 25
Considering a bag'o'bits for third prize, that'll probably be down to the number of finished entries.
People's Choice: As voted for by your fellow dakkanauts, prestige and a warm fuzzy feeling are your prizes here.
Everybody is welcome to enter. The more, the merrier and all that jazz.....
I'll add a list of interested builders, and update it. I'll amend this post as needed. If you see something that needs fixing, do tell.
