I hate to sound like I am repeating everyone else, but wow! This stuff is amazing. I will definitely be keeping tabs on this blog.

The green and black complement each other perfectly and the hazard stripes give it an edge to break it all up.

I love the work!

Hey man, nice blog everything's looking good so far

What are you using for the rubble on your bases ?

Hey buddy thanks for stopping by and taking a look. The bases re made up of the gantry sections from the GW buildings kits am some small basing slate from the basing kits.

I basically went at the gantry sections with the clippers starting by snipping and tearing the edges off to make smaller pieces of rubble. Then I hacked at the thicker sections to create some larger pieces (careful positioning of these makes for a good footing for your miniatures).

I then covered the base with plastic glue, placed the larger pieces of rubble where I wanted them and then sprinkled the smaller bits randomly over rest of base.

Next stage was to paint PVA in the gaps and dip in the basing slate (found its better to do this after you have glued the model to the base). Let this dry before applying a watered down PVA mix over whole base to bind it all properly and then its ready for painting.

Hope that helps :-)

Right... As promised some updates thick and fast. Just got delivery of my airbrush so thought I would crack it out and get busy on my jetbikes and tactical squad.

All I can say is.. If you have not invested in an airbrush yet then I highly recommend you get yourself on eBay and spend £65 on probably the best hobby purchase you will make. A job that would have taken several hours took just over an hour and that including masking up the jetbikes. The finish is as expected, smooth and even. Much better than a brush application in my opinion. Very happy with it and a complete bargain.

Ok so as promised another update. These have not come together as quickly as I would have liked but finally got there. I have really been struggling to et motivated to paint recently. With only 2 weeks until the Betrayal Weekend I am well behind schedule!!

Here are some pics. I'm not too happy with the transfers.. Used ardcoat before and afte applying them and have sprayed with a dullcote lacquer but still coming up shiny.

If anyone has any good solutions would be great to hear them

Hope you like them. As always feedback welcomed.

Looking good mate, agreed about the air brush! They are a life saver.

I'm not sure whats happening on the front with the decals. One option if you can't get the shine down is to gloss all of the black and match it back that way. But i've never known dullcote to not work.

Hi all, it's been a while but since frantically trying to get everything painted to an acceptable standard ready for last months Betrayal weekend at WW I have now started putting some time into getting them up to a finished standard. first up is Abaddon... A suitable choice given her currently leads my fanatical force! So here he is, I hope you like him and as always feedback is welcomed.

Looks fantastic! The face is particularly beautifully done. The only thing I would say is that he looks very clean, I'd like to see a little dirt and blood here and there, not too much, just enough to add a little more detail and interest. A+ though! great work!

Thanks mate. Yeah I know what you are saying. The rest of my SoH are pretty beat up and battle damaged but I'm not quite sure how to achieve a suitable effect on black armour. To be honest I'm a little afraid of screwing him up lol! I think I need to practice on some test pieces first. I would quite like to try making some gore with red paints and inks mixed with some UHU and try that on the power fist... I will certainly have a good think about this one. Appreciate the feedback

Oh pretty

The fine highlights give a really "black" black, which looks fantastic.

I have very little experience weathering black, so I look forward to seeing what you figure out.

Hi all, thanks for your comments on Abaddon. Really appreciate your feedback... I'm still deciding on how to weather him and his Justaerin and am still wimping out of getting him dirtied up lol! So meanwhile I have finished my second tac squad which has been sitting half finished for way too long!!

Apologies about the pics but not got a great camera or lighting. Hope you like em.

Hey, thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you like them so far... I will try and keep them coming but in 3 weeks I will be off on my travels so may be quiet on here for a significant amount of time.
