They should so get us to write the return of the Primarchs

Plus, it's hinted that the Sanguinor could be the psychic remnant of Sanguinius in some way or another. You can always bring them back.

Ferrus Mannus soul may have been sucked into the blade that walloped off his head, thus allowing him to be freed from said blade to inhabit a clone made of his original body. You can always bring them back.

The deamon prince known as Magnus may in fact be just a shadow of the real Magnus, whose spell to teleport his legion away from prospero also took them 10k ish years into the future, leaving only shades of the legion behind. You can always bring them back.

Alpharius and Omegon finally inflitrate the golden throne and kill the emperor, allowing his soul to be fully released into the warp so he can go bitch smack the warp gods. Their mission finally acomplished, the Alpha legion returns to the fold. You can always bring them back.

Vulcan is rescued from the necrons collection, the Khan returns from the webway, Russ and Corax emerge from the eye of terror fist bumping and giggling about their mischievous adventures, and the Lion wakes up yawning asking what time it is. Last of all, after his brothers have reorganized their legions however the hell they want, Giulleman is brought out of stasis and saved from death. You can always bring them back.

The only character I think has been stated to be completely, utterly, and irredeemably killed is Horus, when the Emprah smacked him so hard even the warp gods couldn't save him from oblivion. However, I could be wrong about that because, as I mentioned before, you can always bring them back.

It wouldn't be a party if the all the deamon primarchs also come back from their various hidey holes.

Now, I don't like some of the stories that I've come up with to explain the return of the primarchs, obviously it could be done better. However, an all out smack down brawl of Primarch against Deamon Prince with the might of their entire legions raging around them on the very steps of the Imperial Palace would be the coolest thing ever. Throw in a Hive fleet having finaly got to Sol, things have been to busy to deter them, an orc Waaaagh of Waaaagh's showing up for a fight bigger then they've ever dreamed of, the eldar knowing that this is an all or nothing fight against choas turning up, the dark eldar fighting for choas because Slaanesh is threatening to kill them all if they don't, the Necrons, who hate choas, show up for an oppertunity to do damage to everyone they have a problem with, and the tau seeing that the Greater Good demands that they fight against evil (although they probably consider everyone present to be evil in one way or another), and all the other imperial forces called in because this is it, tar'mon gai'don, if I may borrow from the Wheel of Time. Awesome. Way better then: well, things are like they have been for 10k years, everything sucks and is grimdark, ho hum. Everything is terrible, evil this, evil that, we can't progress the storyline because that just wouldn't be grim dark now would it?

Inquisitorial lesson #298: Why to Hate Choas Gods, cont'd-
With Chaos, Tzeench would probably turn your hands, feet and face into
scrotums, complete with appropriate nerve endings. Then Khorne would
force you and all your friends to fight to the death using your new
scrotal appendages. Once they get tired of that, you get tossed to
Slaanesh who <censored by order of the Inquisition>, until you finally
end up in Nurgle's clutches and he uses you as a loofah.

Im not sure even the Chaos primarchs are in any way near a physically or mentally/healthy enough level to fight anything except angst/regret/inner Daemons/Voices/Each other.

Lorgar's locked himself in a small room for 10k + years muttering to himself about how the Gods still love him and that whole defeat during the Horus heresy was just the dark Gods working in mysterious ways.

Night Haunter vindicated himself to death

Fulgrim is still hiding in a sword because he cant come to terms with killing his own brother and blaming it on a bloody sword

Angron is Angry, He was Angry on Armageddon, and was even more angry when he was banished, funny incidental thing, if ANY of the other traitor legions had backed him up the Imperium would have come away with a seriously bloody nose, apparently they reserve working together for failbaddon

Magnus Occasionally dicks with the space puppies, takes lessons in always being right from the Eldar (Read "Just as Planned) but then what to you expect from the guy who espouses the god of pointless dickery?

Horus.... The Father failed, the sons doing an even worse job.... what more can you really say?

Alpharius no one knows what his deal is, probably not even him, if he is still alive, or twinned, or cloned, or a temporal anomaly, or a physic reflection, could be a bad guy, could be a good guy, no one really knows.

Perturabo... probably the only hope for the traitor legions, so far the only one of the original legions to have actually accomplished ANYTHING with a remotely long term goal, still maintains an entire legion plus assets that, although constantly trying to destroy and outdo each other, will instantly come to heel when daddy shouts loud enough.

At least the loyalist primarchs have excuses for being useless in current events......

I think the biggest reason the Daemon Primarch's haven't done anything, is that they all have to lose in the end. It's kinda like the Tyranids in that if they win, they keep moving, and moving, and moving, until they take Terra and end Warhammer. They don't show up to conquer one world and chill there. So, if any of them ever actually came out to play, they would have to have some kind of huge, cataclysmic battle to send the Primarch back to the warp.

Now, barring a hundred grey knights and the Battle of Terra, I think there are very few things capable of stopping a primarch. So we'd either end up with really lame, weak-looking pansy primarchs(see:Mortarion), or we'd get stuck with really bland, vague stories about when the primarchs showed up to fight(seeominion of Fire).

Not sure how well that came out, but I'm too tired to type entirely coherent responses right now.
