I'll probably have to read the Rulebook again (going to a tourney tomorrow, so I'd have to do that anyway) but couldn't he flame all of his enemies and then there would be no problem with charging anything he wanted?

Exactly, he also could have put templates in such a way so that he still would be able to charge, gants are fearless close to Tervigon aren't they?
Also I might have used Eldar JB to go for biovores.... they could get behind lines for good shooting position quickly

Any unit within synapse range is fearless I believe.

@jy2- Yea I meant I don't know how he screwed the pooch on the baron thinking he had 3 wounds ha ha. I know dice hap[pen good and bad. Just surprised it passed both of you that the baron should have died.
Yea table looked similar from first game and I am not slanting bias one way of the other just saying that for any game more area terrain is more my taste. If you both agree though you can play on an empty table and it's fine Or a cluttered one!

No, he still needs to declare "a" target. If that "primary" target dies, then any incidental units also damaged by the flamers cannot be charged. If he (the original target) survives, then the council can multi-charge. The original target must survive in order for the council (or any unit) to be able to make the charge.

Well, if you target a unit with flamers, you must place the flamer template so that you hit the maximum number of models in that unit. So if the termagants were their original target, he would have easily wiped them out. However, if he declared the tervigon behind the termagants as the target of his shooting, then there is a chance that the termagants may survive. In any case, then he can charge the tervigon or multi-charge several units if the tervigon was his target for shooting.
He needed the GJB alive for the objectives. Going after my biovores would be suicide as he would then be exposing them to the firepower/offense of my army.

I have a feeling it's because either the Baron has never lost his re-rollable Shadowfield to normal offense or he's been insta-gibbed when he has. I don't think Grant had ever come up to the situation where his Baron had had to die by attrition so he probably forgot. As for me, I'm just not familiar with the Baron's stats. Never played against him until this series of games.

Great report! Some very cagey pay to out maneuver the crazy Seer Council!
Were you rolling for IWND? I've seen a few batreps this week with Flyrants or Tervigons getting endurance and taking a few wounds, but never see any recouped, were the rolls just not there?

My strategy was all very simple. I knew that his seer council will have to come to me. They've got hardly any shooting. All I really had to do was to let him assault, pray that my unit survives (or not) and then hit him with everything I've got (except for perhaps the flyrants).
Yeah, I was rolling for IWND. I think in the whole game, I only managed to gain back 1W from IWND. For some reason, I haven't been having much luck with them...and that's in all my games.
IWND has never really done much for me. It's mainly the normal FNP which has helped tremendously.

Thanks for your great report as usual
The DE/eldar list is very hard to play. Has he got good results with it in general ?

I believe he has been dominating with his deldar army. I think his only 2 losses ever were against my bugs (he did win in our first meet, however) and against Team Zero Comp teammate Frankie's Dark Harliestar deldar army (because his Baron was unlucky and failed 2 consecutive 2++ invuln's to get insta-killed). You can find that report here:

Well, very interesting battle and congrats on the win. I've not yet faced Nids in the 6th ed. Their psychic reservoir can be quite intimidating as is Eldrad. Making fearless units non-fearless is one of the best tricks in town as is the combination of prescience, doom, and misfortune.
