Just like how people give a gak about actor's and musicians personal lives.

GW Rules Interpretation Syndrom. GWRIS. Causes people to second guess a rule in a book because that's what they would have had to do in a GW system.

This story makes me wonder how many children and babies will have to be slapped before the airlines finally add a "Daycare Passenger Class". A small section where parents traveling with children under 5 can sit that has a sound deadening partition that seperates it from the other classes.

As to the OP's question.....

I'm all for the right to hire and fire on any grounds unless the individual has a contract that covers such. At which point both parties are subject to the terms of the contract.

No question in my mind that they were in the right to fire him. Someone accused of Assulting a child is not what you want on your corporate board.

Also as for whether it's contractualy allowed.... If this guy was an executive, you can bet that the board or his superiors have the contractual ability to be rid of him whenever they want.

What I would like to know is what kind of severance package he received.

As an executive, probably something massive.

Executives seem to get skiploads of money to go away even if they are responsible for turning the company into a smoking crater.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
