I've never really liked ANY of the artists or original versions of songs mentioned so far to care about covers of them.

Pink floyd? As over-rated as the doors (or those has-beens from Liverpool). Never saw the appeal - but likewise, can't see the appeal of Avril lavigne, Puff daddy, or primus.

Perhaps it's because I spent my early years (up until the age of about 8) in a perpetual silence (I was deaf) and still don't hear stuff in quite the same way as a normal person with 'normal' hearing (I suffer frequency dropouts all along the usual spectrum - making some sounds impossible to hear - and others just painful.).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I would say that is probably almost entirely a valid explanation.

I can't say I've ever actually met anyone who could tell me with a straight face that they did not like Pink Floyd. Might not like a lot of their stuff, sure. Might not be familiar with what they did beyond what's on the radio, sure. Outright disliked? Nah.

Lets be honest, it can't get any worse than the original song can it?

Anything Floyd did after Pompeii is GASH and got steadily worse as they went on.

There are many great covers of Set the Controls out there, BTW, seems to be one of those that people like to do.

You gotta be trolling. Shine On You Crazy Diamond, gash?

That's sickening. Have you no respect for what's holy and good?

Pink floyd, Primus, Puff daddy and Lavigne in the same basket?!?

I mean... Honestly, I don't know how to deal with this. I think I'm gonna go cry in my shower.

What are people's thoughts on this cover of this Nirvana song?

Brilliant? Blasphemy? Meh?

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”
