Subject: Real Life Blasphemy on Parade - Worst Band Ever Performs a Song by One of the Best.
My faux-emo teenage years have been savaged by the Beast. Evil has reared its ugly head and spewed vile corruption on all I hold dear. In case you don't understand what I'm talking about, I understand. I expect you'll need some information first. Just the basic facts. Click the link and I'll tell you where it hurts.
Assuming you've read the article I linked to and watched the video, am I overstating things here? Or do things like this bother you they way they bother me? Have there been instances of such soul-damaging blasphemy that you've noticed in your daily travels?

I've heard worse, not by much and even then it was a college band playing their first ever gig.
As for " soul-damaging blasphemy", meh I've gotten used to all the bilge that is being put forth on the wireless...radio. Very rarely will a song that has been rapeseeded get to me.
Honestly? Yeah, they're off key a little and the singer's flat as Hell and seems kinda disinterested.... but The Neighbourhood Dads (if that's not their band name, then I proclaim it to be from now on) aren't the worst. Perhaps the worst at that one song. Behold the worst:

I was at a concert once where Staind attempted to do a heartfelt acoustic version of Comfortably Numb. Without going into gory detail, that was the point in which that I left. See also: Korn.
While I didn't actually view your video, I'm unsurprised. Mangling Pink Floyd songs is how bad bands establish their mark upon the barometer of the lame.
It's up there, but I'm pretty sure that Bieber creature has desecrated a Queen song which has got to be up there with getting skullfethed by Slaanesh herself.

Yeah, they suck. I mean, I'm a fairly accomplished musician, but I wouldn't touch a Floyd song. They're a very difficult band to cover because if you get it wrong, their songs just plod. They have a very specific sound, one which is difficult to replicate.
While I have no doubts that I will, in the fullness of time, die - I doubt you will be able to do anything to affect the hows, and whens of this event.
I fully believe I will die peacefully and in my sleep, just like my granddad (and not screaming in panic like his passengers).
My brother in-law listens to this manufactured pop idoru.
There is nothing you could do to me that would hurt, after this.
I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

Some bands just shouldn’t be covered and Floyd is most defiantly one of them. I’ve seen some otherwise quite talented bands try (Flaming Lips and Dream Theater have both covered DSOTM in its entirety) but even they just weren’t up to the job.
Leave that band alone….

Here is a fantastic cover of one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs : Goodbye Blue Sky.
Enjoy.

Let's be fair, though. Miku's singing is only as good as the person who programmed the song for her. I've heard some excellent covers by Miku, and I've heard plenty of badly mixed, terribly done covers. Then there's some songs that she sings well but are terrible to begin with. It's hardly her fault considering she's a piece of software. You can go and buy her and make her sing whatever you want, however you want (to some extent, there is an English voicebank, but it's still in it's infancy).
It does use another Vocaloid as well (Kaito if I'm not mistaken).

These are all charming contenders. But there is only one, how do you say, Godzilla of terrible covers:
My friends, it truly cannot be worse than this. Unlike your talent shows and local bands, the people involved in making "Come With Me" were seasoned industry professionals. Jimmy Page himself played the fething guitar for the, and I use the term loosely, song. Their massive incompetence can only be further magnified -- although you might not think it possible -- by the connection to 1998 film, which (like this track) is wholly comprised of the purest fail; fail so pure that it ought to be added to the Periodic Table. Finally, as if all of that were not enough, this cover isn't just something you can snicker at and forget. Clamping your hands over your ears and screaming won't make it go away, either. Rather, the intensity of the fail here imploded, like a black hole, popular culture itself: "Come With Me" reached #2 on the UK charts and #4 on the US charts. This abomination actually furthered Puff Daddy, as he was then known, along in his career. Like the survivors of all great historical atrocities, each of us who lived through those mad times must take a long hard look ourselves in the mirror and ask "how did I let this happen?" And to the younger ones, we can only apologize.

I love 'Echoes'. It's one of my favourite songs, and is the source of my internet handle. But the rest of it? Dross, with the possible exception of 'Pillow of Winds'. Meddle doesn't come close to 'Dark Side..' or 'Wish You Were Here'.
