Yeah I understand that the Dwarves book is more recent than the others, and they they can still be competetive. My point is just that overall, i dont think that GW should be ignoring any book for more than 5-6 years. Thats just ridiculous.

Ask Necron and Dark Eldar players how it felt. Dark Eldar players waited for 12 years for a new book.

This is what happens when GW have too many armies to update, and why they shouldn't be looking at new armies until they get their development cycles under control.

I'm not sure if they ever will tbh. I mean, take Space Marine armies in 40k for example, they're only updated as frequently as they are because they always sell well. Dark Eldar weren't that popular, so that explains the massive wait for the current book (hopefully they're popular enough now and will get regular updates). GW will probably just update what benefits them most though to be fair, eventually they get round to updating everything.

Dark Eldar were not that popular - then they were updated with new rules and lovely models and "Shockingly" were a huge success in terms of sales.......wierd how that works

I would never have even considered starting DE before the new minis because every other faction had newer and nicer models. The new DE, however, are a lot nicer, and some of the best minis GW has produced, imho.

I'm sorry, but with how popular lord of the rings became, and how many people have come to be fans of the fantasy genre in the last 5-10 years, you think GW would get their head out of a certain place and put together a solid Wood Elf book. If it's a good book, and quality models, they would be very popular. how many new people would love to jump into a came wher they can play an army of Legolas's and live their LOTR fan dreams? GW is missing out on prime opportunities.

Yeah, telling people how this and that is 'garbage' and they should just throw their minis into the trash as they're not as efficient as XYZ.

There is no chance that dwarves will be dropped from whfb, thats just a silly speculation. Until whfb improves in sales I think it is unlikely that GW would invest resources in a new army. There are plenty of armies and there is also the issue of retail shelf space.

I think it is more likely that an unpopular army would be done away with than it is likely for a new army to appear. Probably the last shot at an interesting new army was wasted on OK.

Thats true. Plus they also need to focus resources on completeing old books that need great adaptations. I can also understand them getting rid of an unpopular army. But I feel like theres really no excuse for that. Of course an army will be unpopular if it is older or the rules and values are terrible. It would be pretty cheap of GW to just brush off mistakes in an army by getting rid of it. Even if it is very unlikely an army would be phased out.
