you will wreck face with it.
By this, do you mean combi-flamers? They can only have 2 "different" weapons in the squad, so would you take a "regular" flamer and maybe a heavy one as well, or just all combi-flamers, to take advantage of the special ammunition?
What about a Multimelta to add in some distance to the tank-hunting component?

To add on to this, how do you actually GET or MAKE combi weapons? I know there is a "bitz" kit from GW but it's metal and looks kind of shoddy, actually. Do you "chop & glue" bits of guns together, or do yo just ignore the WYSIWYG aspect and say "counts as?"
Most of the time when people refer to sternguard weapons, they are talking about what combis to give them. It is very rarely worth it to take their bolters and special ammo away. The only time I think it's worth it is heavy flamers, or if you are giving them 2 heavies and sitting them back to use as faux-devestators.
Where to get the physical combi weapons is an age old question that pops up all the time. You get one c-melta and c-plasma in the sternguard box, but only one body that holds them. The commander box has some. While many think that the special sternguard pack looks like garbage, it is there. Making your own is not that hard. If you have some extra coin rattling around, there are a number of 3rd party manufacturers that makes some nice kits.

Chop and glue or scratch built parts to add to a bolter. I find that the old chunky 2nd edition bolters make great combibolters due to the larger size of the gun and magazine.

I tend to use 7 multi-meltas in a ten manned squad along with two heavy bolters for crowd control and a sergeant with twin lightning claws all drop podded into the enemy artillery and back field units it realy puts a kink in the other teams plans and with ten they are very long to kill just keep them from directly getting fired on by the entire enemy army

For BA, it's 8 combi-melta, libby, and corbs. Libby puts up shield of sanguinius and corbs is there for the FNP. Makes plasma spammers very unhappy.

For Combi Meltas and Plasmas I get them on Ebay through this seller:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Combi-melta-parts-Warhammer-40K-Space-marines-bits-/181123258944?pt=Games_US&hash=item2a2bc99a40
Shipping takes a bit, but they arrived and are a great price.
You can also convert them by using the many tutorials out there (just do some searching).

Thanks a lot! I will check this out, and may also do some "chop & glue" as well. I appreciate the advice regarding the squad composition as well--the Brother Corbulo addition to key units seems to be a developing theme...gotta buy me that guy! And some Drop Pods. Man, I'm learning a lot on this Forum about how bad my BA tactics have been...
